Pretty much what the non-district games are for is figuring out what works and doesn't and adjusting and getting the right personnel in place. There have been years that Ned was 0-3 in district and went three rounds deep in the playoffs. They have a pretty tough non-district so they are getting some good experience against other good teams in the area.

Excited to see this game tonight, and get the season kicked off at Bulldog! I know the offense will score some points. But, I'm really hoping the defense is closer to LP norms, and a lot better in the secondary. They're going to be put to a big test. The people who know the players better than me seem to be pretty upbeat about this season. This game--to me--is really important for the D to step up. Sure hope they're not already looking to the Border Battle next week. If they are, Crawford's liable to embarrass them with the firepower they bring. From the interview with HIHSS, sounds like LP will have a couple kids who were good enough to start on Varsity as freshmen, got hurt and were out last year, that will be back this year. That may also have something to do with some of the optimism. Two more ‘starters’ back.

its the first game of the season, most teams aren't going to look great. Lets see if there is improvement next week before making judgements.

Freshman: Franklin 31 La Vega 24 final. Franklin freshman group has yet to lose a game. JV: Franklin 33 La Vega 12 middle of 3rd when I left. Franklin JV was completely dominating the game despite multiple fumbles in the first half.

Not a good night for the Nederland defense which I considered improved from last year im not a fan of Coach Wright no matter how high Coach Rich is on him. On a positive note Jackson Lane and the special teams (- a few punts) had a pretty good night
