Working a poll has nothing to do with Americans wanting legal citizens to show proof that they are eligible to vote. You are making this way more complicated than it should be.

Tech Wolves replied to UNT-AggieMan's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Brandon Shumake at Brookeland and past girls coach in Jasper. Over 100 wins at Jasper and now boys at Brookeland where he has taken them to regional finals each of the three years he has been there, and once to the State semifinals. Wins at every level including a state championship TAPPS while at Cleveland Heritage. -

Is there anyone on here who has ever had a problem voting due to ID verification? That’s what I thought. So it’s been this way for years, now it’s a problem. Why? Can you still vote? Why the concern for anyone else? Have they had trouble voting? Nope. Some of you like to argue a stupid point when it really has no effect on anyone. You’ve always been selfish and never cared for anyone before now, why mess with your record? If you care about illegals voting then you’re not an American….plain and simple.

Better if the Beaumont schools stay down.

Personally I don't think you need to speak for women. I work at a bank where names on DL's have to match account name. In my 23 years of banking, I have never had a woman complain they needed their divorce decree to change their name.....either to their married name or back to their maiden name. Why do you think poor people are dumb?

Did we need our birth certificate to even get a DL in Texas? Honest question, I can’t remember its been so long Anyways.. let’s make the criteria to be active US passport. That’s not voter suppression since everyone has one readily available, right

There’s a big difference between voter ID and proof of citizenship. I think that a person should be required to provide a photo ID when they show up to vote. I do not believe that it is a barrier to voting. But that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about the SAVE Act requiring proof of citizenship before a person can register to vote-and a state issued ID won’t cut it. You’ll need a birth certificate that matches your name or a passport, etc… The argument is that a married person’s birth certificate won’t match their name, so they’ll also need proof of their marriage(s) and divorces to prove that the person named on the ID is the same one that’s listed on the birth certificate. Not a problem for me, but a problem for women. Women who typically vote Democrat. Just a name change? You’ll need copies of that documentation to accompany your birth certificate if they don’t match. A passport will suffice if you have one. Who doesn’t have passports? Poor people. And how do impoverished people typically vote? Democrat. Are you sensing a pattern? My opinion is that Trump is trying his best to suppress the votes of likely D voters. In the absence of his new SAFE Act, he’ll use the supposed lack of safeguards as the reason that the feds will have to cancel (unlikely) or invalidate areas where he suspects “fraud.” Think no further than his proclamation that “democrats can’t win unless they cheat.” He believes it, too. On the heels of an election that was safe and fair (because he won), and suddenly it’s going to be “cheating” if he loses the next one. It’s a toddler ish way of thinking.

Looks like I'm late to the party. As some of you know, I used to be a regular contributor. And I've always been pretty quick to let my feelings be known when I agree/disagree with a comment. Years ago, I would often give little personal attacks - especially on the football forum (ironic, huh); however, I quit doing that quite a while back. Should've never done it in the first place. It was all in fun for me, but not everyone takes it that way. I quit posting as much because it doesn't feel like discussion or even a spirited argument anymore. It's continual bashing from both sides, and I don't think either side is changing any of the other side's minds. Kinda the way this entire country is going these days, really. I still like to get on and look and read from time to time. I may even comment. But it's lost some of the glow for me. And if I'm being honest AAW, for a while you really made me question whether or not I would ever login again. That was quite a few year's ago, but it's always stuck with me. I realize and understand that this is a privately held site that can do as they please and run it however they want, but I didn't feel right about commenting on this topic without saying this. No hard feelings and it's all good, but it was definitely a bothersome issue for me. All that being said, I'll end this post with this: "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" -Proverbs 15:1 "My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry..." -James 1:19

Politicians know no shame… the Trumpers don’t have a lock on this one, lol. I still have a hard time coming to grips with the hypocrisy. It’s the “Democrat Shutdown” today, and the Rs can’t believe that the Ds would hold the country hostage. The Rs do it, too… but then it’s okay. -

How Do You Define an Elite Coach?
-
Why isn't Belichick winning in college? He was an elite HC in the NFL... right? Why didn't Urban Meyer win in the NFL? He was an elite HC in college... right? Could go on & on about who's elite and who's not, or what makes that HC elite and this one not elite, but the hill that I will die on is the coach that gets the most out of his players, the HC that can motivate the unmotivated, the coach that can turn an "I" player into a team player. The coach who has all his players buy into his program, buy into his way of doing things, his standards. There will be a few (coaches, parents, community members) who know who those HC are cause most of us are not behind the scenes, in the locker rooms, on bus rides to and from games, or in those private one-on-one talks. And NO not all coaches can get that out of players!

Between 1944 and 1983 Calallen had ONE 10-win season. Danaher won 10 games his second season there, then went on to win 10+ games in 30 out 36 seasons, with one of those six being an 8-2 covid season. He made the state semis 12 times and the finals twice. So the question is did he make it that far and then choke? Did he make it that far and then run into a superior coach every time? Or as common sense would dictate, perhaps he coached in a region without an abundance of talent, got far more out of that lesser talent year in and year out than any coach in that region ever has, and consistently took his teams as far (or even further) than the team should've been expected to go every year. Danaher could 1000% have won several championships with the talent that SS has had at Carthage. SS wouldn't have won more than 1 or 2 (and quite possibly zero) had he coached Calallen the last 20 years instead of at Carthage. Interesting side note: Danaher's Calallen teams lost to La Marque in the state semis 6 years in a row in the 90s. Between 1995 and 2006 La Marque won 5 state titles and played for 3 more, with 2 different coaches leading them there. Those two coaches made it to the regional finals ONCE in 22 combined seasons at the other schools they coached at. In between those two coaches was a third coach who led La Marque to the 4th round three times in four seasons, despite never having a season better than 3-7 anywhere else. So, were they elite coaches who forgot how to coach when they left La Marque, or did La Marque have elite talent that a couple of good coaches took advantage of while they were there? I'm pretty comfortable stating that Danaher would've won a few state titles if he'd coached La Marque's incredible talent instead of in the football graveyard of southTexas. I'm also pretty comfortable saying that Danaher could've gotten hired into any number of jobs where he'd be better equipped to win a state championship if he'd chosen to.

She oughtta be ashamed, but alas, Trumpers know no shame. -
Voting is a constitutional right. Buying alcohol and driving a car are not. Taking out a loan is not. If I am who I say I am, the state should take my word. I need to show proof of residence to place me in the proper voting precinct. If I lie about who I am that makes me a criminal. I am not to be assumed a liar. This is all a ruse to erode trust in our institutions and each other. A hallmark of autocratic take over. Your grandchildren will curse you for supporting the criminalization of America.
-
That's typical of how I figured you respond. But.. I didn't give you my thoughts. I asked you why so many coaches have won a title or more and then never got close again. That doesn't sound like the actions of an elite coach to me. I would think an elite coach would just keep being elite every year after reaching elite status.
