  1. Past hour
  2. Thats exactly what i specifically was talking about. They won't act like thats not an advantage vs primarily OC schools neither.
  3. I believe the original comment was supposed to be a Houston area school, not a Houston school, and with Huffman being 20-30 (give or take a few minutes) from Atascocita, Crosby, Dayton, and Humble, it means they could potentially get kids from those schools for one reason or another. Again, this is me trying to make heads or tails of what the original post meant.
  4. Houston area talent pool. (Harris) county population wise you out number almost every school in this district by a significant margin? Pure guess there on numbers but thats my gist there. Edit: short Google search Harris County has a population of approximately 4.84 to 5.09 million residents, making it vastly larger than Orange County (about 86,500 residents) and Hardin County (about 58,800 residents) combined.
  5. I know an entire community who will debate you all day long. I can throw a rock twice from my house and hit the Liberty County line. Are we in Harris County? Yes. Would anyone from Huffman claim to be a Houston area school? Hell no. They'd probably be fighting mad lol. Most folks here live on a minimum of 2-3 acres. That's about as far from "Houston" as it gets. I still haven't heard an explanation as to why this means Huffman should dominate the district in football. But I am genuinely curious to hear it. I look forward to picking the explanation apart.
  6. How long has this district been playing on Thursday nights? It seems like they adopted the idea nearly a decade ago? Maybe not quite that long.
  7. Let's tap the breaks about saying Shepherd is underachieving this year and look at things historically. This current staff has won 1 of the 2 ONLY playoff games ever won in school history. The other time came in the 60's. I don't care if it was when they dropped to 3A...that's a lot of years of existence without a playoff win. Not too long ago, there was an athlete there that played for the Jets and the Steelers, one that I believe is still pitching in the majors, and had one on that team start at Sam Houston and they didn't win a playoff game...even though on paper they should have. Shepherd is one of those places where you rarely see people get out of there (or the surrounding area) and go make something of themselves. What I'm getting at, is when you see Shepherd, you think they should be better than they are. The issue is a community mindset that keeps them from being better at anything than they are. Are there good kids there? Absolutely! Are there good people there? Absolutely! Until you look at the dynamics of what really goes on in there I'd hold off on the underachieving part. There's a maroon and gold school not too far away that, on paper, has better demographics than Shepherd and the same could be said about them underachieving in all things.
  8. Does anyone have info on Shepherd live stream? This is the only way i know to follow this game. Audio only.
  9. Say louder so the ones in back can it hear! They know who they are.
  10. Big difference between a Houston school and Houston area school. 🤷🏾‍♂️
  11. Huffman is absolutely 100% a houston area school. Thats not even a debate To add: Let's not get confused. "Houston school" HISD vs "Houston area" Harris county sure. There a slight difference but population wise its all Houston folk.
  12. Lufkin finishes the season against us, and let’s just say we’re ready!
  13. Does Lufkin make the playoffs? I never thought I’d see Lufkin football down like this. Is it a lack of talent, or is the new coaching staff struggling to get the most out of these kids?
  14. Probably the most we’ve ever been hated on is in this district with these setx folks lol… It’s a cult. I hate we had to spend our time in this district during a program re-build. I guess our freshmen team has been letting them all know what’s up tho. You’d think they had 20 State titles between them all and we’re the scrub, but once Lufkin leaves the district will have zero 😂

  17. Today
  18. Got this flyer in the mail today addressed to students of our family. Inviting them to join rallies and what to do if they need support and their parents won’t help. What the hell? This is a sick liberal agenda. [Hidden Content]
  19. Rumors have it that Paredes and Walker may be trade bait since Correa will be back. Me, I’d trade Correa.
  20. Officiating crew is why this one is Thursday.
  21. I feel like if this is the issue for a team then a shot clock isn't going to make a difference. Not to be brash, but this sounds like what my old coach used to tell me, that's a YOU problem. You would still need to advance the ball past halfcourt in 10 secs, and if I'm the opposing team and realize your inabilities then I'm pressing you with simple M2M. Then the shot clock is the least of your worries cause even if you get it across I'm staying on you. Teams with short benches are going to struggle regardless, not as a reult of a shot clock. Let's be honest we're probably talking an extra 6-8 possessions a game. 35 seconds is a LONG time. The part I will agree with is the issues it may cause within smaller schools that you mentioned and officials, but make no mistake, if your team is bad it's not the shot clocks fault.
  22. With the addition of the extra RB, Orangefield has sufficient talent to establish the run as a threat & open back up the passing game which I hope will be more consistent. Orangefield did improve on passing & I hope to continue that improvement. If the Bobcats are going to make a deep run it takes all 3 phases of the game & 2 out of 3 isn’t good enough. With that said, Orangefield by 14.5.
  23. I dont see where Shepherd has played anyone decent outside of Madisonville where they lost 35-0. Super soft schedule. WOS 49-7.
