If Shelbyville and SA win, I'm going to need some recommendations for pre game meal in SA next week. Same for Colmesneil and West Sabine. May end up in Pineland so would need a place there or along the way.
-
Should not even be close for a red state. IJS Cornyn may have been a better choice.
-
I'm real curious what that post game speech sounded like the other day, and what the end of practices are looking like this week after the shenanigans on here.

Texas City is extremely one dimensional. TC will run it outside and the RB is really good. I think Ned gives up a couple of long runs but wins easily.

Beaumont West Brook at Lufkin Predictions Week 10
LufkinPack replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in High School Football
It’s like playing Russian roulette -
Bye Week is always a mystery team. You just never know what they're going to bring to game each week.

I think we're just looking at what actually benefits the game from two different perspectives. You mentioned that an extra 6–8 possessions could change the outcome of a close game. Absolutely they could, but isn't that part of the point? Those are additional opportunities for BOTH teams to execute offensively and defensively. Why should a team that's trailing be denied opportunities to compete simply because the team that's ahead can hold the ball? And I disagree with the idea that controlling tempo somehow disappears with a shot clock. You can absolutely still control tempo with 35 seconds. You can run your sets, work for high-percentage shots, and play deliberate basketball. What you can't do is hold the ball for two minutes without ever attempting to score. There's a difference between controlling tempo and avoiding playing offense altogether. I also think we're overlooking one of the biggest benefits of a shot clock: rewarding good defense. A shot clock gives the defense an opportunity to earn possession without having to gamble for steals or commit fouls. As far as smaller programs and inexperienced players go, I understand the concern, but at what point do we stop treating fundamental basketball skills as disadvantages that the rules need to accommodate? Every team has strengths and weaknesses. Some teams struggle against pressure, some struggle with size, and others struggle with depth. We don't change the rules to eliminate those disadvantages. We coach our players to overcome them. The one point we agree with, again, is the financial burden and officiating concerns, especially for smaller schools. Those are legitimate issues that deserve solutions, but I don't think logistical challenges and competitive disadvantages are the same argument. Ultimately, I think a shot clock makes basketball more balanced between offense and defense. It doesn't force teams to play fast. It simply requires them to actually attempt to score within a reasonable amount of time.

Texas Senate Race -- Ken Paxton vs James Talarico
thetragichippy replied to Reagan's topic in Political Forum
I was playing music in Louisiana and afterward went to a musicians house for food and drinks. The mix was 50/50 Republican/Democrat. The funniest thing that came up was how brutal Texas political ads are versus Louisiana, especially the Paxton/Talarico ads…..We all had a great time and managed to share our political beliefs without throwing insults at each other. I was not called homophobic one time for believing boys should not play in girls sports. My point is hiding behind a keyboard and insulting folks that don’t agree with you is not real life. I also found out Talarico is not real popular even among Democrats in Lousiana. -
I did purchase a gold coin. It was a donation to his campaign. $99 bucks and he won in 2024 - money well spent. These races are tightening up.
