Mavericks fumble on 3rd and 12 on their 23 yd line with 24 seconds left in the half. First pass is incomplete and the second pass is a TD. LP lead 10-9.

The refs have lost control of this game. LP defense is frustrated and to be unbias the holding on the Mavs line is being neglected. #56 of the Bulldogs was thrown out of the game for a personal fould in which 2 Mavs tacklers "slow-played" getting off the LP receiver so when he pushed the player off a flag was thrown and the the next 2 came because he "cursed the ref".  Result is a 45 yd plenalty!!.

Mavs to their credit was fired up but after that 45yd penelty La Porte has woken up and playing well.!

It took LP offensive staff two quarters figure out what Memorial was simply doing...stopping outside runs at the death of giving up inside runs.  The second half LP motion the Jet Sweep and hit the dive up the middle or the opposite side WR screen.  I'm glad they made the adjustment.
Our defense struggled with Memorials 3-in-1 plays. Run the Jet Sweep and if that's not there QB keeps it and if the run is not there than hit the backside  block -and- release.  Also our CB man on man coverage was off. Too many times the DB miss timed or just completly didn't challenge the pass and Memorial hit big passes.  Again, anytime you incorporate "multiple read" plays into your offense its going to give LP's defense of scheme fits.  What's most important is the boys kept playing and they made the great plays when neded. That forced fumble with 24 seconds left was clutch right before the half. And the Blocked FG with 5mins remaining...clutch. the very next play was a 70+ TD run to make a 22-21 lead a 29-21 LP victory. Good luck to my Bulldogs in the next round.
