Texas A&M stumbles its way to Big XII Championship

IRVING, Texas- Texas A&M earned its third Big 12 regular season title on Sunday. The defending postseason champion will be the top seed in the 2008 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship, which is scheduled for May 21-25 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.

The Aggies will open play on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. against No. 8-seed Oklahoma, then meet No. 5-seed Texas on Thursday at 4 p.m. After a day off Friday, A&M will conclude pool play on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. against No. 4-seed Missouri.

Texas A&M finished league play with a 19-8 record, including a Big 12 and school record 16 consecutive conference victories from March 28 to May 11.  Texas A&M's regular season championships are 1998, 1999, and now 2008.

Yep outright champs.  Weird Big XII season for them though.  Started out 3-3 and then won 16 in a row to be 19-3, then lost 5 in a row, but fortunately put enough space between them that Nebraska and OSU didn't catch them.
