Congratulations to the young man from Hardin, Brennan Nunan who picked up an offer from Lamar University, I saw on social media.  Coach Taylor is building something special over there in Hornet land.

Did the QB transfer as mentioned on another thread?

QB from Woodville moved. Hardin still not going to beat Woodville. It could be competitive with Hardin's size and experience up front though. Think they return 3 or 4 from the OLine and got a 350 pound move in from Liberty to add to that

Hardin will beat the brakes off WV. WV is about to be a dumpster fire. Fortunately, outside of Newton and Hardin, the district is utterly pathetic.

Hardin will take a decent step back… I don’t think they beat the brakes off Woodville… not saying they won’t win… but beat the brakes is a bit dramatic IMO I agree Newton is head and shoulders better than anyone else in the district

Newton actually lost a lot up front to graduation so the match up between Newton and Woodville could be a little closer this year depending on a few variables, the main being coaching. Woodville will probably have more overall team speed but then again KJ and Izayah will probably be a handful by themselves so we'll find out soon enough

Yes, from what I have been told, Hardin lost a senior guard and gained a sophomore tackle, who moved back over from Liberty.  It appears the line will once again be the engine behind this machine.  Somebody on here said, they believe hardin takes a significant step back?  I see it quite the opposite.  I think they just got better.

Wow... using the word "pathetic" when talking about a group of young men.

Hardin isn’t gonna be what they were last year… That’s taking a step back.

With all do respect… Newton will beat the brakes off everyone else in the district this season. Save this post and if I’m wrong feel free to call me out on it

Not sure why the coaching staff would indicate opposite.  Very odd.

It's not unreasonable to form that opinion based on what happened last year and you may be right. I just know what Woodville has and know it could be very competitive if things fall in place. Our coaching staff has a little adjusting to do so nothings guaranteed but we definitely got some pieces.

Hardin lost the entire backfield except the qb. They'll still be able to move the ball some with the big OLine but it won't be the same. Defense won't be the same either. Woodville will be a lot faster and will have a little more depth than Hardin

Woodville will be faster, but will they be willing to tackle inside the box every play, all game. Coach Taylor has a way of wearing defenses down.. even the more athletic teams. Woodville could get 3 or less possessions each half.

It will not matter what Newton lost up front. WV will be non-competitive.

Yea the guys will have to be a lot tougher than last year. A lot of those sophomores will be juniors so hopefully there will be some mental and physical maturity. DLine gone have to really get after it for 4 quarters
