La Porte went 51-0 between 1986-87 with the title at the highest classification when there weren’t split divisions watering down the field. Your statement is pretty bold. But, I love the pride shown. I’d be the same way. Boogy1000 1 Quote

He played a part no doubt but if you are going to list three players for that year, he shouldn't be one of them. I would go with Harris, Jones, Mike McCain or Barnes with Bush and Adams for that championship. Quote

Mr. Thomas Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Winning a state championship is how legends are created. According to my research, Southeast Texas has won 39 state basketball championships. I consider any city/town within a 35-mile radius of Beaumont to be in Southeast Texas. The first overall state championship in any sport dates back to 1925, when Beaumont High (formerly Beaumont Central) won the basketball title, and the last State Championship was in 2025, when Beaumont West Brook won. Putting things into basketball perspective in Southeast Texas, Beaumont has 11, Port Arthur has 10, Buna has 7, Kountze has 4, Hardin Jefferson has 3, Silsbee has 2, Orange has 1, and Evadale has 1. There have been so many incredible teams that it's hard to rank a top ten without excluding some great teams. Now, let me attempt to answer the original question: "Who would you rank 1-10 from teams that won state like PA Lincoln, Hebert, Ozen, Kountze, Silsbee, West Brook, and United. Who would be #1? All State Championship Teams: 1. Beaumont Hebert 4A1981 (35-2) (Coach Fred Williams) 2. Port Arthur Lincoln 4A 1986 (33-1) (Coach Gamble) 3. Beaumont Ozen 4A 2001 (36-0) (Coach Boutte) 4. Beaumont United 5A 2022 (36-3) (Coach Green) 5. Port Arthur Lincoln 4A 1984 (32-3) (Coach Gamble) 6. Port Arthur Lincoln 4A 1995 (35-3) (Coach Boutte) 7. Beaumont United 5A 2021 (31-0) (Coach Green) 8. Beaumont Hebert 3A 1980 (35-2)(Coach Fred Williams) 9. Port Arthur Lincoln 4A 1991 (34-3) (Coach Boutte) 10. Beaumont West Brook 5A 2025 (38-2) (Coach Thomas) SETX State Championship Teams 100 yrs.pdf Quote
