Will only speak for Silsbee here, but in my opinion, the 2016 - 2017 Tiger team is number one in SHS history.

Think about it: they lost one of their best players, Devin McCain, and STILL went on to win state.

Some may argue the mid 90s Silsbee team that was upset by Chapel Hill is the GOAT, but the bottom line is they didn't win anything.

Kenyon Spears!!

kenyon came later. but that 1991 team may be one of the most successful teams in the history of Texas basketball when it comes to success AFTER high school. the entire starting 5 from that team earned their doctorate degrees in their respective fields, and the overwhelming majority of the rest of team has been just as successful. What are the odds that a smalltown basketball team could churn out so much success.

Dr. Jamey Harrison- former Bridge City Superintendent, current director of the UIL
Dr. Shannon Holmes- former Hardin-Jefferson Superintendent, current director of ATPE
Dr. Jeff Burke- retired as the Superintendent of Splendora
Dr. Joel Nolte- former Asst. Superintendent of Huffman, currently works for the UIL
Dr. Gene Isabell- successful orthopedic surgeon
Dr. Tim Rowell- pastor, Flatonia Baptist Church
Dr. Neil Laminack- Asst. Principal Grand Oaks High School
Duane Joubert- over 600 wins as a head basketball coach, multiple state championships
Clay Davis- over 300 wins as a head basketball coach, current asst. principal and Splendora MS
David Underwood- business owner with over 100 employees

Coach Charles Breithrupt- Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame, Texas High School Coaches Hall of Honor, retired Director of the UIL

Assistant Coach Todd Sutherland- closing in on 1000 career victories, multiple state titles
