What does that change? Who said anything had to be limited to transfers that occurred this season? The effect is the same.

The post I replied to from The Missing Band

I’d rather lose with our kids that grew up here than win with some kids who stopped here for part of a season.

Crazy facts. PA  have homegrown players. What’s yall excuse for being 5-1 against PAM? Yall have had the best of every thing and STILL can’t beat PAM. Sounds like sore losers

Like I said… it’s a different way of thinking and it’s unreasonable to expect you to understand.

What’s unreasonable is png fans crying after defeat. Layups starting Monday morning….oh and come out to a real game today

No excuses.  I know you're not talking to me, but those PAM - PNG games were all pretty good games, even the '22 game, and in each one the best team won, IMO.

As far as last night, the best team won, period. PNG missed Bailey for sure, but I don't believe the game would have gone the other way. The offense wasn't clicking, and there's been too many dropped passes all season, regardless of the scores. Still, it was a good season, and to be ranked 3rd in the state ain't too shabby.

As far as the player kicking, I didn't see it but I heard about it. I guarantee when Coach J. sees it if he didn't already, there'll be a price to pay for that.

So nobody gonna talk about the offensive lineman that kicked the SOC player while he was on the ground?  I don’t wanna hear NOTHING about class and PNG in the same sentence unless it’s about graduation. DISGUSTING!!!

A single act from one person condemns the entire community? Cool. I’m sure you’d accept that standard being applied to Port Arthur.

Wait a minute. I'm not from these areas, but why are PAM fans going after PNG fans ?  Did I miss something here?  Is this southeast Texas on southeast Texas crime?

It's one fan and his personal vendetta.

South Oak Cliff shares a 20 mile radius with Duncanville, Desoto, Waxahachie, Carter, Kimball, Roosevelt, Sunset, Adamson, Wilmer Hutchins, Lancaster and Red Oak: 6 playoff teams and 3 national contenders.  So that whole "super team" thing sounds like tears.

Sure, a program's success can serve as a recruitment tool, but anyone in the know will tell you SOC lends out more talent than they get. Duncanville's last 5 star lived in SOC's community. As well as a ton of Desoto's starters.

SOC sent more players to the NFL than any other high school long before they sniffed a State Title appearance. The community has ALWAYS been overflowing with talent.

SOC's problem has always been inadequate coaching and facilities. Now that they've caught up in those areas, folk are whining about the talent that has always been there.

PNG does well to compete wuth the like of SOC, just like any community.

Be humble and enjoy the experience

My memory may be a little clouded but I just recall some controversy about a qb that was trying to transfer to SOC if I'm not mistaking. Several others who have successfully transferred in over the years also. I may be wrong about any blatant cheating but I'm pretty sure SOC and some other DFW schools (especially Duncanville) are utilizing some advantages some schools in more rural areas don't have when it comes to drawing pools. Good win for SOC though.

It’s some PAM fans are chicks poo. PAM isn’t that much different from SOC as far as demographics go. The same dirty bs they did and say about them, we get the same energy. One thing about me, I don’t forget, especially where I come from and experienced. Also it’s expressed on facebook the real beef. On here it’s some fudge kissers, so there is that

Very simular as far as race and economics and all that but Oak Cliff has like 6 times the population of PA. And yet PA is competing in 5AD1 while SOC competes in 5AD2 because of "school enrollment". Meanwhile the best athletes in the 300000 population of Oak Cliff as well as some athletes from neighboring communities will probably attend SOC while the others will attend other schools in the area. SOC has a bigger drawing pool than PA yet they play in a lower classification.

However they share an area with schools that are much better than them also like desoto and ducanville and a few others

It’s not about demographics. It’s about stacking teams. And it’s currently within the rules, which is unfortunate to teams who don’t have the the ability to consolidate the athletes from six high 5a high schools onto onto one team, but still play 5a D2 football against teams who don’t have the ability to consolidate players to a single team.

It’s just not anything to be proud of… that’s all I’m saying.

How did TJ, Lincoln and SFA stack up against the Indians back in the day, before they consolidated into PAM?

The only real competition they have when it comes to drawing talent is Duncanville. Duncanville might take one or 2 of their best guys every now and then but they still have plenty to chose from within that large population

It’s not a SOC issue, they just exploit it better than the rest of the DISD population and flaunt it on the helmets as the mecca of DISD sports. Kuddos to Coach Todd in that regard. The problem is a UIL issue. They make private schools play up in 6A no matter their enrollment if they want to play in UIL because of what they deem to be an unfair recruiting advantage due to the fact that private schools are open enrollment to anyone. So why are open enrollment public schools not being held to the same standard?

In the end I like the SOC/PNG matchups, I just think they should be at AT&T each year. We have no business being in R2.

No need to, WE apply it ourselves. And sorry, PAM players might retaliate, might chirp, but I have never witnessed them do dirty things like that. Just unprovoked
