FrodoNDN Posted November 29, 2025 Report Posted November 29, 2025 Midlothian run D was legit. Ashworth did a great job, definitely missed Conner and his experience. Quote

spidersal Posted November 29, 2025 Report Posted November 29, 2025 That is what I said, they were very good, but the OL did not play as well as they have been and I know Heritage had a lot to do with it Quote
Eazy Posted November 29, 2025 Report Posted November 29, 2025 Heritage’s defense played really well and kept them in the game. PNG’s defense did also. Heritage couldn’t move the ball, but had the the 2 big pass plays to score. Other than that, they had maybe 1 or 2 first downs. PNG FG kicker was clutch with the 3 FG’s and the Indians needed each of them. Quote

Closest to that this season their RB was held to 94 and 95 yards against TH in the 2 games. Aside from that the other 11 games were all over 100 yards, PNG gave up two score one on a fle-flicker and the other on a botched screen play. Besides those plays MH did not move the ball. Quote

Actually this run reminds me of Nederland's run in the 1950s in 53-55 we lost in the state quarterfinals in 56 we lost to garland on a rainsoaked field at Bulldog Stadium where we fumbled 4 times then came away with the state title in 1957...but to me nothing compares to the run West Orange-Stark went on in 2011-2019 where West Orange-Stark made the Quarterfinals every year during those years and made state 4 years in a row from 2014-2017 Darth Texas 1 Quote

Dan Hooks and Cornell Thompson were great together. When Cornell took over he had great coaches. Cornell was the areas best D Coordinator probably ever. That guy could coach and gets his players to buy into it. Chain Gang defense . Quote
