Let's not forget Rich was 60 seconds from being the top seed last year. Now, he hasn't even finished his 2nd year. Heck, Neumann didn't set the world on fire his first 4 years. We need to give him a chance and see what next year looks like. We should see a noticeable improvement! Barrow was given a bunch of snotty, spoiled brats who didn’t adhere to or care about rules his last few years yet he still tried his hardest to instill professionalism and morals into them like always. Two things about Barrow are that he can turn mediocrity into greatness and young boys into men, but the kids have to want it. I think it’s been long enough that you people should stop blaming the state of bulldog football on Monte Barrow and maybe start looking at yourselves and your sons. Reagan 1 Quote

The biggest problem i see this year has been the lack of talent at wr we have no ability to stretch the field and as a result teams can load the box...our defensive issues are well noted...this year has nothing to do with Monte Barrow or Scott Rich for that matter its Jimmy and Joe's...every team goes through years like that heck we had one of those years recently in 2022 Quote

That’s one of the dumber things ever posted on this board. Quote

Bear Cave Posted 46 minutes ago Report Posted 46 minutes ago Nederland fans have been spoiled for a long time. The reality is Nederland had a great coach in Neumann and benefited from always being towards the higher end of the district's enrollment numbers. Numbers play a huge factor in football and the Dogs are currently on the low end. To piggyback off the poster defending Monte, the kids have changed in Nederland. This is not a racial statement, but more an observation in parenting and blue collar mentality. The toughness that was once a staple isn't the same and because of it, the old camp fun way of doing things just doesn't work. More a shot at modern parenting than the kids themselves. This observation probably applies to more than just Nederland. This Nederland group just isn't all that talented...and they've had injury issues. Poor cycles and bad luck happen. I'm not saying Coach Rich is infallible, but his team last night wasn't even close to this PNG group. Lots of sophomores are getting major minutes and the underlevels still seem to be winning. The future is bright and I believe we can't judge this coach until he's had 3-4 seasons. There are ex-coaches in this thread with an ax to grind, disgruntled parents, and a bunch of others who have little clue as to what they are talking about. Remember, sports are supposed to be fun. If you can't watch without being miserable and wanting to fire everyone, its time to find something else to do. Go Dogs! AggiesAreWe, outanup and NDNWarrior 1 2 Quote

1970 Posted 27 minutes ago Report Posted 27 minutes ago PNG was simply the bigger and faster team last night, IMO. I saw positives for the Bulldogs though, although the option pitch out whatever you call it play wasn't one of them. Also IMO the Bulldog QB, Sheppard, should have had more carries, even if PNG made adjustments. Edit: I won't be surprised if they beat Huntsville. navydawg31 1 Quote
bp141103 Posted 3 minutes ago Report Posted 3 minutes ago Every realignment I look at the numbers and see who is moving up or who is moving down. Nederland has slowly been dropping over the last few realignments and this year they were only 100 or so from being considered 4A. Is it a real possibility them dropping out of 5A and ending MCM? A BUC 77 Posted 2 minutes ago Report Posted 2 minutes ago Tough to watch. I hear we’re young. I hear we have a bunch of injuries. The main thing I wanted to see is a hard fighting bulldog team. The halfback pass and the option are on the coaching staff. Just like the long passes by png in the latter part of the game. On another note, I wanna send prayers to my classmate Dennis Sedtal a long time umpire and referee. May you rest in peace. Quote
