Agreed. Eisenhower is an absolute dumpster fire. Heard they had less than 30 kids in athletics during the offseason. Not sure if they have stabilized since but they will not recover this season. Might go 0-10.

That's a surprise since Ike has been the strongest of the Aldine ISD programs over the last 20 years. 

 

I remember my senior year when they smashed us on Homecoming. It was the DQ Big Game of the Week when FSN Southwest with Craig Way came right Brook.

 

I can still feel the lick one of the Ike linemen laid on me

Ike did beat West Brook last season 27-17 in Beaumont. I was at that game. Ike wasn't bad at all.

I got WB winning because I think the Bruins are going to be very good this season. Not sure about Ike going 0-10.

This was my take on the game last year:

 

Eisenhower has a really good soph. RB. He had over 120 yards rushing last night. Their O-line dominated WB up front. Bruins never had an answer for Ike's counter plays. QB was very mobile and helped extend plays when needed. Eisenhower not a bad team.

West Brook offense is a struggle. The soph. QB will need time to grow. Threw 2 picks last night. Bruin run game was ineffective. Ike's front 4 was able to control line of scrimmage. WB has to get better up front to have any success this season. Bruins finished with less than 120 yards of total offense.

BTW, Ike's QB from Warren started the game. Played first series then was replaced by #2 who was much more dynamic. He was the QB that I was told to be the starter.

What they put on the field this year will not resemble last year. It will be bad. If they find a way to be mediocre, the new coach should win "National Coach of the Year". Aldine is the only team I believe they can beat.

Wow amazing how things have changed. I was there 2003-07 and we couldn't get kids to leave the weightroom after school in the offseason. Great numbers and athletes. Administration, like always has a lot to do with it as far as head coaching hires. Without the right head coach, a championship contender can become a dumpster fire quick. I was there during Coach Carson s last years before moving on to College Park. The head coach is the most important part of a football team. This is why I did it for almost 4 decades and write about it now. FiretheCoach on Substack

Eisenhower got destroyed in scrimmage by 4a Yates! WB by however many they want! Times have changed on the north side of Houston. All of Aldine ISD kids head to Davis or out of the district.
