I'm hearing $15 which would be an increase of $3 from last year. I don't know for sure because I haven't found one yet. Last year I didn't find one until the middle of August at a Walgreens where I had never seen them before. I long for the "good old days" not so long ago when you could find it at multiple outlets in early July. I don't want the subscription because it is too expensive for what you get.

Barnes and Noble in Beaumont had about 50 copies yesterday

You could’ve been like me and pay to be a subscriber and get the magazine early, it not come until August 1st…and then read a whopping 1 sentence about your team and every team in your teams district. Definitely makes the membership seem worth it…

 

I do enjoy the perks of the year round articles…but that entire districts write ups were bad. And before the rebuttal of “they can only write what the coaches provide”. I asked, he wasn’t thrilled about it either and said he filled out the questionnaire with quite a bit more detail but he can’t control what people say (or don’t) in a magazine.

The articles, magazine, Texan live, and year around content seem worth it to me. If it’s not worth it to others then don’t pay it lol

There's definitely space issues when you get below 4A because we've tried to keep the magazine at 400 pages. With more and more schools playing football, that dance gets tougher each year

Depending on the team we may have a longer write-up on the team page on the website...which team/district are you referring to??

I've passed your feedback on to the editors, etc.

Much appreciated response. 3A-1 District 10. You are correct that the website has the full write ups. It looks like the editors literally just cut everything out for the district teams down to 1 sentence from the full write up. Disappointing that the other districts that correspond to our area in 3A-2, 2A-1 and 2A-2 all have the full write ups in the magazine but I do understand space limitations. And I also think understand everyone can’t be pleased.

 

I know it’s griping but I do appreciate DCTF and the team and the coverage they provide for Texas high school football. Was just sour opening the magazine, and it didn’t help that it was almost a full month after seeing it blow up on social media of many others receiving theirs early. Like I said, the subscription is more than just the magazine and the online stuff knocks it our of the park every week.

It’s ok. I had also reached out to support through the website. Long story short just got overlooked in a shuffle. Transitioned my account from online only to the magazine and online subscription and somewhere in the chain it got missed. Apologies were made and I can appreciate that and move on. DCTF is a big venture and mistakes happen. 
 

like I’ve said before, I love the online stuff and had been doing the online subscription. With the magazine getting harder each year to find I figured I’d switch to the subscription that included the magazine to save myself some hassle. DCTF isn’t losing me, i just needed to vent. And I got the apology/ explanation so all is good.
