A safety was there to make a play on the ball and …not sure what happened

It look like he mistimed it.  He was running toward Vidor side & receiver toward Huffman side.  I thought, at that moment, he had intercepted, but timing just a hair off I guess.  That QB to Wilkins was a heckuva combination.

been working nights lately, and i listened to the whole game with my headphones. big win for the league villains - after starting 0-3 who woulda thunk they'd be sitting a game over .500 and sitting pretty in 2nd place in district going into the final district game, honestly not me. this team is peaking at the right time i think. gotta keep the black pearl sailing against splendora next week!!

GO PIRATES!! 🏴‍☠️

Definitely our coaches cannot evaluate talent. Making a game plan for the week is one thing, but installing the correct personnel is another. This is where I believe Huffman will be Huffman unless our HC holds his coaches accountable.  We were definitely down this year, but in my opinion we shouldn’t be this bad. We have decent players!  Just not guided correctly.  We should of made playoffs!! We still can, but I doubt it!

The fact y’all had new Coaches gave me hope.  Old Coach had defending the Slot T down pat, ergo y’all beat us every year.  I was hoping new Coach may not - and he didn’t.

And no, personnel wise y’all were good.  Perhaps not quite the Falcons of the past, but still, good.  If the old Coach had this group, y’all would be in the hunt for the DC - Jmo.  And yes, y’all still have a chance at playoffs (I think).  Good luck with that.

Congrats to the Pirates, its so nice to see their hardwork payoff. I really hope they can make a playoff run, Coach Mathews is a class act.

As pointed out earlier, when we got the ball on the 1 Ft line, & backups in, many coaches would’ve let them run it in.  Not Matthews.  The fact he is a Class Act is why he’s still HC here, and probably will be as long as he wants it.  That, despite the fact many fans hate the Slot T.  As I always point out, we’re 5-4 and all 5 of those victories were against spread offenses, and most with bigger, faster people.  I can’t begin to tell you how many times Vidor RB’s have broken loose this year and were dragged down from behind.  For other teams TD, for Vidor - another first down.

I can think of 3 other Slot T teams right now that are steam rolling their opponents an are undefeated in their district. Go look at their numbers.

Pirates have 1 district loss to a very good Lumberton team.

Yes he could, and he wasn’t the day one starter this year🤔. Wonder what those coaches were thinking this year.  I feel we could of pulled out a few more wins, or closer games if those coaches were kept in check this year!!!!

I think huffman truly has a decent shot to beat my bears next week. They are improving

Springing to the line and snapping quick gives the defense no time to see what backs are in and what the formation is

I get that but they can still do that with 7 seconds on the play clock. One of the objectives of that offense is to eat up clock. Why not maximize that objective especially when your ahead by 2 or more touchdowns. At least that’s my coaching from the stands opinion. Lol

I watch the game on my iPad & post on my phone (not a big phone).  It took two attempts at every word, lol.  I love it when BB post, although how he does it is a mystery to me.  Tonight he must be at the dome, drinking cold beer, lol.

Fastest fingers west of the Mississippi my boy.

Tear in my beer for the Stros, we’ll get em today.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
