Man that’s kind of classless. Calling out kids by name and then saying kill them. I know your bitter because LCM beat you through your high school career.

People like you are the ones that give Vidor a bad name. What a jackass.

Vidor has one thing going for it, appears we’re the underdogs.  Expect a big effort from the Pirates, and they’ll need every bit of it.

Jasper is one common opponent.  LCM wins 13-0 (1 TD scoop & go) and Vidor wins 8-7, so LCM gets a slight edge but not enough to say this is a lock.  Also LCM has home field, so based on the bookies, that’s a 3 point edge there.  Still, I think it’s going to be a nail biter, whoever wins.

Hope LCM’s field is not in bad shape after the Jasper game.  Neither team can afford injuries.

Kind of thought the same thing, at least leave the kids names out of it. I wouldn't like it at all if someone said that type of crap about my nephew on this board.

I was thinking the same last night about LCM's field conditions.

Yep. I agree. I don’t have a kid on the field but I do know several of the parents. I understand wanting to talk smack but these are high school kids. No point in calling them out like that. You always respect your opponent.

Agreed. I'm all for smack talking and its what makes these games fun. But there are boundaries, like don't make it personal, don't call kids out, and always respect your opponent like you said.

We’re going to find out a lot about the LCM defensive front, if they can rally and tackle all night long then they have a shot to win. But they better have some depth and the ability to swap out down linemen because every game I have watched Vidor play this season, it’s a wrap in the 4th quarter the opposing defense is done for and it’s smooth sailing for the Pirate offense. If they don’t get behind the chains with penalties and mistakes and you allow them to keep the chain gang moving the sticks. That little Pirate offensive line has major stamina, they can come at you all night long. The running backs will bring it for 4 quarters and the QB is tough as nails. If the LCM offense comes out hot and I suspect they will have some very good plays dialed up to test the Vidor secondary, the Pirate D just needs to weather the storm and not let it get out of hand early so we can play the long game. I have seen way too many times in recent past where the Bears give Vidor a good game until half time or for 3 quarters but the Pirates always seem to wear them down. Oh and like the other guy said, hit their Quarterback, this would be a good game to use our big weapon, our own stout Defensive line.

LCM rotates the dline out. They have about 42 on the roster. Crouch I was had us at about 30kids

That’s a good thing, should be a good game. The one thing Vidor has not seen this season is a brick wall defense that forces them to get a little creative and throw the ball some. Jasper came the closest, but even then we moved the ball into the red zone several times and a couple times inside the 10 yard line. Didn’t really need to throw it but man when I tell you this Vidor team will make mistakes, I mean it. We like to give the ball away and let you have it back after we maul you and drive all the way down the field. Yet somehow they have found a way to win all of these games.

    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
    • See why I don't trust my Hogs?
    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
