I want Nederland to win because they are our mid county neighbors, but I've been rooting for Lumberton this year because they finally have a winning team and it's nice to have a school that hasn't experience a playoff in school history to be in this place. I think Lumberton has been on a roll, and Nederland has dropped a little. I know Ned has been in this position before, but I think Lumberton will be too much for them this year.  Lumberton and Dayton seem to be almost the same type of team, Very balanced and after seeing what Dayton did, I think Lumberton wins this one, Sorry Nederland.

If you look back after the png game you will see how I told them great game and thanks for all the Trash talking. I really think the people on here that take all the trash talking too seriously had to be Band Members or Cheer Leaders Beacause anyone that has ever played Football is  used to the trash talking. Hey we have taken it for 40 years. After the game no matter what happens I will trash talk then tell the Ned fans how much fun it was having the chats this week! I hope just because yall hate me telling yall the truth, doesnt mean the Ned fans won't come watch my son play ball in the playoffs.

Big Ned Fans, Maverick is telling the truth.  He talked a lot of smack before the PNG game and after the loss, he gave credit where credit was due.

Maverick, there is one thing different in this game versus the PNG game.  When L-town loses this one by more than 10pts, you can give them credit an you & your son can also buy tickets and watch them the following week.

Bid Ned 14 years running.

L-town 41 years running. ;D

If the cap is 18, then with Nederland being -18, a 9 point win would put them -9.

Lumberton stands at +1, so losing by 9 would put them -8.

I think Nederland must win by 10 or more.  WOS87, is this right?

On a side note If PN-G beats Dayton then Nederland must beat Lumberton by 9 or more to get in.

I have noticed ALOT of PNG fans supporting Ned to beat Lumberton......why isn't Ned returning the favor. At least explain how ya'll can hope Ned wins, while all along they hope PNG loses!

Go Raiders - From Silsbee!

I must be in Jasper hoping the Tigers can secure a playoff spot (our hands are full w/ Jasper) however, if Silsbee doesn't make it, I will go watch Lumberton!

i dont think ned will even score 10 against lumbertons defense

Why because Dayton shut them out?

They might not... but Lumberton is certainly not anywhere even remotely close to being as good on defense as Dayton. Not by a long shot. These games are totally unpredictable.

Lets just let this one play out and see...

If Lumberton earns the win I will be glad for them, if they don't then so be it. I will be happy that my Dogs get in. We will know by about 10PM on Friday night one way or the other. Till then its all just jawing.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
