Dogs severely SEVERELY choked on offense. They know it, everyone knew it. Dont get me wrong, George town was good!! Plenty good enough to win and win state, but two interceptions thrown where there were no bulldog players within 20 yards and several dropped interceptions made it impossible . An entire season of poor offensive strategy finally came back to haunt them.  I think after 17 points all due to offensive blunder,  the Dogs defense really let down. You can onyl ask so much. Georgetowns offense did not have much in the first half, they were pretty well shutout except for a field goal on a short field. But in the second half they tasted blood in the water and they fed... Great season Dogs. I'll miss seeing you till next season. I thought this was the first real chance we had at going all the way in a decade.

Underdogs I agree 100%,, but these forums are ALL pointless and stupid by their very nature.. If no one posted their opinion there would not be a forum, and thats ALL we have are opinions... The only facts we have on ANYTHING in the universe is whats in the past.

There was that bogus hands to the face call on 4th and a mile which gave them an automatic first down. But even if you grant the the second TD, that's 13 points. Holding a team to 13 when they average 40+ is quite an accomplishment. I think GT is going to be in for a rude awakening offensively.. [/quote] The hand to the face was not bogus.... I won't mention the name of the player but I saw it on the replay. He was double teamed and he got his hand up under the PD players mask and knocked his helmet off....

I love this time of year because no one really knows squat about how teams will match up... This could go either way and whoever wins will be saying I told you so as if they knew all along... Trust me, you don't know... We can't possibly know. So enjoy the trash talk to pass the time and we will see where we stand about 630 pm Saturday....

....... Frank Gorum Texas City Running back. We couldn't stop the kid, he was a bowling ball on feet. They fought the guy all afternoon but could stop him from turning the corner. Ross LaBove, Nederland Running back, fast as lightning. Ran on his tiptoes and you could not stop the kid turning the corner. He got rung up badly and had to leave the game. Massive Bulldog heart. Great playoff game, we stayed close the whole game. Just couldnt quite get it done.

Look, We are all excited... Both teams are fantastic both teams are fully capable of destroying the other once someone makes a mistake. At this point this could go either way. Someone is going home disappointed Saturday afternoon. Theres no way to say who, some come prepared either way and play like your life depends on it... Most of all play to kill. No mercy, run it up...

Remember Texas city? Remember their running back? Remember our running back? Remember how the game went for him?

I Can still see those moments in my head...I can see bay city's fullback chewing up Our defense. I Can see Sean yoder trying desperately to score. I can see paddio streaking down the field and driscoll fighting for yards... And I see Joe Ramoin being denied at the goal line... I see Ben Mcphersons first interception in the dome... Cool memories... So many more!!

Just to pass the time unti Friday I thought it would be fun to talk about past playoff games. 1998 playoff season. tell me about it. What do you remember about the last game of the season?

I saw him on the goal line praying before the game... At halftime they were ALL praying lol.. But seriously. Being a Christ follower I noticed his personal prayer on the goal line.. Then I noticed that he went down twice during the game and didnt quit. Then I noticed that he BAREEEELLLLLLLY  missed Carson shoestrings on the last play of the game but he was running with all his might to the last step.. I wish I could see him and tell him personally how proud I was of his personal performance.

I like seeing other teams colors. It lets us know who is there supporting us from other schools. Personally I think its an honor to have other teams come support.

All that goes on in this forum is just fan talk .No one really dislikes anyone else for what is said here,, if they do they are nuts.... Just come sit with us, wear your Vidor colors and came bark with us??? We'd love to have you!!

The last two times we have made a big change that included a purposeful plan to use noisemakers as we progressed through the playoffs,,, we lost the game. I know about creating our own luck,,, and I'm very mildly superstitious, the towels freaked me out a little but they worked out okay. My suggestion is just come wearing black and gold and scream like crazy.. Our best games have simply been when the fans screamed themselves hoarse and used the week between playoff games to heal. I've made 99% of the games in the Neumann era and have been waiting on this for 16 years, this is it. This is our chance. Lets make this happen.

Last fool I heard make that idiotic statement was L7 Matt Leinert of USC after losing to Vince Young and UT in the National Chamionship game... It is a REALLY stupid thing to say, it's something you can believe but you keep that stuff to yourself for a million reasons. Mostly because of the arrogance and narcissism it breeds in the kids. Sorry guy, you let your emotions get the best of you and you look like a fool. Learn from it and this loss and use it for good and not evil oh about 8 months from now. :)

All I know is that our Dogs defensively crushed the #1 team in texas for over 3 qtrs. If not for a busted coverage and some absolutely inexcusable officiating this could have been a shutout and it also could have easily turned out ugly. Way to go team for another magical and totally unforgettable night of bulldog football. You earned this win,, enjoy it we will never EVER forget this night.  3 big time highlights for me were Washingtons crushing tackle of #14. Hopkins stiff arm Barrows indescribably exciting catch

Defense is phenomenal. As good as Nederland has ever had, really great performance. Special teams I swear I saw a block in the back that end overed the first kid that was going to get to the returner... Icant wait to see the video. Watch the home side hash marks on about the 10, kid from PC nudged an Nederland player from behind. Offense has absolutely got to get better and now, this was the last week they are going to get away with such sloppy play calling. If we do it next week we get blown out... Either way it's been a good year to be a bulldog!!

I love the playoffs! I cant wait to make that drive this afternoon!

The team with the most points wins. I'll grant you this,  Neumann and Barrow drive me IN-SANE. They only do enough to get by offensively week after week, I have only seen them throw down once this year. Every other game the minute they got a lead they started grinding. They did it against every team we played in district, drives me NUTS. The Nederland Bulldogs have at least 5 potent receivers that are extremely dangerous when they get their hands on the ball and very seldom if ever drop. They have yet to really open it up this season. I would love to see them really open up the playbook and beat the crap out of someone. I think if they could just call a game with the gloves off they could beat any team in Texas 4A this season.

[/quote] You can't win if you can't score, its been WOS's claim to fame under Hooks and Thomson forever. Although Nederland offense is still sputtering, Their defense is not and is as solid as any playoff defense I have seen in person in my 18 years of neglecting my family to watch as many playoff games as possible. Dayton could have very easily been a shutout. A short field due to a very questionable call and one busted play was all that kept Dayton from a shut out. Otherwise, Nederlands offense only let them get close enough for Carranco to miss a long field goal. Defense wins champoinships... brother we got some defense this season. All Nederlands offense typically needs is 10-14 points to win, and they can do that all day long against anyone. Im not saying they will win another game, or win it all. Im just saying this Nederland defense is not going to give away points, you are going to have to earn it and my moneys on them in a low scoring game.

Nederland is definitely not overrated and I'm almost certain Dayton does not suck... I think Summer Creek is really good. I'd say either team could win but I saw the Coaching staff take the gloves off and drop the hammer against Central. If they can figure out how to get Carson to make the right decision when Corbin's in the mix... I thought they played A+ last night... Dogs are ready.... Whatever happens

Wow,,,, ::) No one ever says what they really think. I know you guys, We know that this game SHOULD be about, 56-14... Due to conservative style it probably will be 35-21/28 with two Ned touchdowns before midway through the 2nd qtr and 1 from Ozen somewhere in the first half on a busted 3rd and a million that results in a ridiculous long TD play.  Then zzzzzzzzzzzzzz until late in the game  as Nederland scores a time or two,,, and then a defensive touchdown from Ned because Ozen has to throw, then after that Ozen gives up another TD drive to Nederland on a boring clock killing drive. Then Ozen scores with a minute or two left in the game cause Nederlands defense is falling asleep. Then Nederland allows an onside kick to go back to Ozen and they score,, again.  This game just wont end,
