Angleton is one of the elite teams in the state. If Ned protects the ball well, they can put up some points. The Ned offense is much better now than when they played Vidor last year. I'll take the Dogs in this one. And I don't think it'll be as close as a lot of people think. I truly believed that Ned could beat Angleton, but if someone told me before the game that Ned would turn the ball over five times and still be a two-point conversion away from taking the lead late in the 4th, I would've said they were crazy. Nederland 31 Vidor 14
You're giving your offense way too much credit....you won't put 31 on us. Clear Brook had a combined 800 yards of offense and 75 points in the two games (LaPorte / Katy SL) leading up to us. We don't sub out at the end of the game they have only 7 and less than 200 last week. This game will come down to turnovers and be decided by less than a TD.
Bless your hearts. You dont even see it coming.  :)

To beat Big Ned they are going to have to either outs core them or shut down the bulldog offense, I know,,, duh. But seriously, I don't see shutting down the offense happening unless Nederland utterly self destructs. Since both teams have good offenses, and Nederland has one of the best defenses in the state,,, and Vidor,,,,, doesn't,,,, well, you can do the math..... I'd say that Vidor will need fate and a lot of luck this year to create a win.
apparently you have'nt seen our defense.
Yeah okay. :)

 5.
Win, lose, or draw matchups like this make you better. On the other hand, Cupcakes.......Well, they just make you fat!!!!
I agree, this is a win win game. Rankings are fun, but meaningless come playoff time... Playing a great team win or lose on the scoreboard is beneficial.
 6.

Angleton had too many turnovers. Angleton RB Richard Cooper went down with an ankle injury in the 2nd quarter and was lost for the game. That was a big loss for Angleton. Up to that point, he had rushed for 116 yards on 10 carries. Angleton left 11 points off the board which was the difference. In the 1st, Cooper broke out in the open field for an apparent touchdown only to trip on the turf and later had to settle for 3 and then on the next drive fumbled on the 2. That turned out to hurt the Cats. Dawson has a heck of a team though and they made the least mistakes to get the win.
ATWILDCAT- Do you think Dawson has what it takes to stop LT? From what I have heard is that Cedar park manned up against LT, do you think Dawson can do the same?
No. Dawson's about to get spanked by the real deal. Ain't no rap music video about how unbeatable they are that is going to save them either. To their credit, it would not have mattered if someone else represented R3, it would be the same outcome this week ;)
 7.
What does this have to do with anything?? We are talking about LM having fighting/dont know how to keep their mouths shut problems, not Vidors suppossed problems. I cant really think of the last time Vidor has gotten into a fight in any athletic sport. LM has gotten into quite a few. Just saying. Keep your irrelevent remarks to yourself and stay on topic. Pointing the finger where it needs not be pointed is immature. Not intended to be rude

It has everything to do with it because all the CENSORED BY ADMIN that is being said it not true.As far as you telling me what to say you can go to CENSORED BY ADMIN.This was LM first also as far as talking on the field you tell me what school that doesn't talk. The only ones that don't are the ones that gets the %ss hit.Yes we talk and intimidate some teams but thats part of it.Its not just talk if you can back it up.LM players can't be as undiscipline as all of you state. Some of the kids from that program are Lawyers and have Masters Degrees. You don't play in fifteen region finals in twenty years with thugs. If thats so all of you need to get rid of the choir boys.Vidor should be the last Hole in in the ground to talk about reputation. This is not 1950.
That sort of "talk" is illegal, and its called aggrevated ASSAULT. People who hit or even touch other people when not invited, when not in self defense, are criminals guilty of assault. they should be charged for their actions and should be held accountable by the judicial system and jailed.
 8. If they have decent video you can get some idea of what happened. Someone threw the first punch in each individual fight,,, every kid that threw a first punch should be dealt with very severly. Expulsion and immediate removal from the schools athletic program would be a good start. Assault charges by local law enforcement would be a good follow up. Counseling for anger management and self control while serving time for the offenders,, and furthermore for every fight participant should be a part of the solution. Community service for both teams in the opposing schools town would not hurt. Anything less than legal action for every fight instigator is a travesty. Hitting someone is assault, that's a crime, period. The law has no choice but to file charges. If we don't start hold americans accountable for bad behavior we are going to implode.. Its freaking ridiculous that we tolerate this bullcrap and the fact that its gone too far already is why it happened.
 9. Fan support was better than it has been Saturday,,, but its nowhere near where it used to be. Back in the 97-2003 years I would come home with my ears ringing from all the noise,, It would be literally deafening in the stands,,, especially during the playoffs. I remember Rice stadium one night not being able to hear conversation in the car on the drive home my ears were ringing so badly. It made a huge difference in the performance especially of the defense, we hammered a really great Friendswood team that night. As the fan support died over the years, so did the intensity of the team, especially the defense. There is definitely something to be said for how crowd noise effects emotion and performance of the players.
Quote from: forum on November 27, 2011, 04:01:53 PM Quote from: Michael on November 27, 2011, 03:31:06 PM First, it's an opinion so who cares who agrees...  I just felt like the offense has struggled to find itself all season. Been watching high school football a long time and most 11-1 teams have stout defense (which the Dogs had until they slumped from the lumberton game on until last week) and if not a high functioning offense at least a methodical consistently productive offense. Our offense never really found a rythm all season. Blocking was not great, play calling was well, not great and there was too many situations where they were buried on third down and then somehow converted in desperate situations... That's not how truly great teams get it done.. They are methodical, and they know exactly what their game plan is and they control the pace of the game. That was never the case, we were always playing to get out of trouble. I've seen what a well oiled offensive machine looks like and the Dogs, although they played well, have a long way to go to be unbeatable in the playoffs. we are close, but not there yet. Something's gonna have to change for the better offensvely to win the whole thing. Defensively, we are close too, just stop giving up those big plays and you are as good as any defense in the state. Give me a team with that kind of defense and I'll predict them to go 3 deep into the playoffs every year. Calling it an over-achievement would be selling that team short of how good they were. I agree with you Forum. I guess Michael's expectations were too low and dont know the players on the team. I knew this group would be very good. But like he said about another post... "First, it's an opinion so who cares who agrees...  "
I dont think the defense overachieved, but because of the offenses inability to consistantly move the ball without heavily relying on big plays and some very lucky moments to get them out of 3rd or 4th and long situations I would say they over achieved. They got it done and I was super excited for them, but with such talent on offense all the returning starters for next year I bet you see a lot more definite ball control and more 3rd and shorts to convert, and less of the breathless moments where the ball is being thrown from 3rd and 10+ into double and triple coverage where a little skill and a LOT of luck saved us about half of the time and the other half the ball was intercepted. Thats no slight against Carson, I thought he did a great job of managing impossible situations that he was put into by some interesting play calls that put him into 3rd and a mile. Kudos to him for making it happen in impossible sitautions.
 11. If the Dawson staff is so strict, why was #7 allowed to play after he came to Nederlands sidelines at the end of the half and outright taunted our coaching staff. If they are so strict why was he not benched? Looked pretty crunk to me. The really retarded part was his team was LOSING!

 13. Tough to watch our kids lose this game. The Dogs had a much more talented and flat out better team beaten, and could have won it,,, but 5 points given away,,, a Barry Switzer moment, and back to back illegal procedures on a 4th and less than a yard turned 4th and 11,,,, and to Dawsons credit a beautiful bootleg play that left the Dogs secondary in the fetal position sucking their thumbs ,,,, did em in.  The kids played a fantastic game though, some great defensive stops and some clutch plays on offense to keep drives alive. In hindsight although it felt like we SHOULD have won last night,, really it was an over achievement to get this far and it was yet again a joy to watch another great season with OUR FIRST DC IN OVER 40 YEARS!!, with the best defense we have seen in over a decade.. Next season should be incredible,,  Great season Dogs!!
 14. To my good friend Kip McFarlin, I know you are in the middle of it today but maybe you'll come back and see this later, I am pulling for you and your boys big time, and hope you can slice and dice these guys up. I would love to see you get a chance to get after Katy. See ya at church tomorrow! Have fun and good luck..
 15. Been watching video on PD. these guys are very very good. They are the real deal, seriously good football team. Dogs better be ready and I think they are going to have to work quickly to learn their offense better than PD knows their own strategy ,, then play super aggressive defense. I think the Dogs will either win close or lose really badly, especially if they coach "not to lose". I think if we try to play conservative football And hang with these guys,we lose in a blow out. We are going to outsmart them on offense and let the defense loose to get after the qb, if we wanna win.
 16. Fun game to watch. I love that the defense stayed after the QB's and kept putting them on the ground on almost every play. Thats a very satisfying feeling as a fan that has watched our defense struggle for years. Third and long still seems to be a bad place for our defense to have a team,  although on the one that counted yesterday they got the job done. Its nice to have a solid defense to watch that is playing well in all aspects. Defensive ends are fantastic, wow. The offense scares me, the talent is there its just what they are doing with it. Slow to develop run plays coupled with incredibly telegraphed inside handoffs, and pass plays that take forever to develop are just so obvious and put the line in a terrible position to have to just flat out overpower the defensive front cause they know exactly where the ball is going.. All things considered I think Carson has done a great job of threading a needle to get the ball to his receivers and its a miracle that he has not had more int's just because of the impossible situations he is throwing into. I say take advantage of corners playing 10 yards deep and take 5 yards a throw until they figure out how to stop it.  There were some incredible pass plays and catches by both teams when the heat was on. That TD that Stratford threw in OT was electric.  Super fun game to watch. Cant wait till next week!!
 17. Nederland is not a good football team this year at all, the only thing that will get them through the Ned/PNG game is the rivalry factor... Other than that it "should" be an easy win for PNG. In my opinion it is a huge mistake pulling the sophmore qb out and playing the senior,,, Nederland is going to have another off year no matter who plays QB. All this decision does is guarantee that next years Bulldog team will be as mediorce (which is a stretch to predict) as this team, why not give him some experience? Nederland has some good little players but they just cant get it together top to bottom,,,
 18. Tooold you....... What did I tell you guys about meeting up with a team that is a true contender and what was gonna happen..

I sat on the PNG side and watched the game and I have never heard so much unjustified whining about ball spots, calls, non calls, IN MY LIFE. Almost every down that Barbers Hill had any sucess at all there were boos and cat calls going on all around me. Im used to some of that,, but man it was constant. With all due respect to my neighbors, just because its not going the way you want it to go does not automatically mean that the officials are cheating.
Is this post for real?   I mean, i get your point, kind of.   But do You think the BH fans weren't whining about every call, spot, non call that went against them?  For that matter, I'm betting every side at every game did the same thing.  It's what fans do.    What do you want them to do between plays?  Sit quietly and talk about the fine reffing job the stripes are doing?  Give me a break.                   ::)
lol, yeah its for real, but iIm not overly serious about this or any other post I make. ts just a gig that is actually true because it was worse than normal, even for PNG. I have sat at a lot of playoffs games for a lot of different teams and this one was the worst I have heard of any team. I get what happens when people get excited but it was sortof nuts.... I heard so much complaining about the spots that I actually stopped watching the game and started watching nothing but exactly where the plays were ending just to see if all the whining was for good reason, this ate up almost a whole quarter. What I saw was that almost every spot was as close to perfect as you can expect despite all the whining and it was no different for either team. The bottom line is that although PNG is a good team, they are not a number 3 team in my opinion, at least not so far. Maybe they will get better next week. I want them to win state, but to me they are nowhere near good enough to legitimately be considered a serious threat for a state title. Unless there defense improves and their running game improves, the first time they run into a team that has top notch offensive and defensive lines with a good overall team performance they are going to get a rude awakening. They are not good enough to run over a legit contender from what I see.  Thats not my hope, that's a warning. My hope is that they win the whole thing!
 20. The only obvious substitution I saw was a second running back (#32?), other than that it looked like the starters were in at key positions and in key situations throughout the game.

 22. Crosby was flat out, no doubt about it the better team. I was very proud of the fight that our Dogs put up, but I honestly do not think that on our best day with our best players healthy we could have beaten Crosby this past Saturday. They were bigger, stronger and faster, executed better and totally 100% deserve to move on in the playoffs.  From what I saw I really think that if they met any 20-4A team again today, they would beat them all pretty easily as well. I was impressed by the size of the team in general and by how well the offense executed the running game. I suspect that Crosby held back a little and just did what they needed to to win without giving away anymore than necessary. They were very dominating and made moving the ball on the ground look easy. All that being said, it just was what it was, there is no shame in being beaten by a better team and Crosby was just better plain and simple. Way to go Dogs on a heartful season effort that you can be proud of. Now starting TODAY, if you want better results next year, begin planning and preparation with the intentions of not being denied an outright district championship and possible state championship for next season.
 23. I'm here. It's about what I expected. BH is just an average football team and the #3 ranked Indians are playing right with them. It's a fun game to watch between two decent teams. I think PNG needs to get a little more agressive on defense and find a way to get the ball to number 19. Please people stop whining about the spots and booing EVERY play because BH is not getting flagged. It's been a cleanly called game for petes sake.
 24. It was apparent that either he is untouchable, or no one wants to hit him. Most of his runs in that highlight video he is running totally untouched. Here are a couple of cool videos I ended up watching after I saw that video... You tube can really eat up some time if you let it.... But there are some incredible youth football highlight videos out there [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
