Shepherd scored 4 runs in the fourth due to an error by the Jasper catcher(actually the back up catcher)......He threw the ball down to third on a strikeout and evidently the umpire didnt think he fielded it cleanly...so the batter took off to first

this was a great game. Shepherd finally showed what they can do when the bats wake up. Hubbard pitched a great game and kept the dogs on edge with his knuckle and curve. Congrats to Shepherd for coming through in a big game, and congrats to the Dogs on winning a close game in the clutch. Good luck the rest of district.

this was one heck of a baseball game folks...even though things happen the way they did shepherd should have won this game in seven for 2 reasons...1st Hubbards double in the top of the 1st is gone on any other field in the state except jaspers...it hit about two feet from the top in left field...if he scores there they have 6 runs through 7 and not 5...2nd in the 2nd innings shepherd made two errors back to back with one out that would hav got them out of the inning with no runs scored...however things happent the way they do and thats that...i think shepherd showed tonight to the rest of the district that they are the real deal and that they are no longer a push over...i looked for them to continue playing like this and go 5-1 or 6-0 the rest of district play...and one more thing i would like to give props to Coach Mixon at jasper for his pitching change when he brought in parsons after alvis...the shepherd hitters just couldnt adjust to the slow pitching from the lefty after the hard stuff from alvis...i think that is what won the game for jasper...if alvis stayed shepherd had a bead on him and would have been able to get another run or two across in the last inning...

good luck to the dogs the rest of the way...and great game pirates...keep your heads up...you play like that and you will make the playoffs with no questions asked
