  1. SA is coming home the Eastern Conference Champions of the NFC.  They lost in the quarterfinals to the Cardinals on a last second TD to get knocked out of tournament as one of the last 8 teams remaning.  We are very proud of our guys and the coaches for making this a great and memorable summer.  Looking forward to the upcoming season and expect great things from the Wolfpack!  We Will Win!!!
  2. San Augustine is still in need of a 1st Scrimmage (JV & Varsity).  We will travel to your place. Donald Hubbard 936.275.8150
  3. SA vs. Franklin changed: Thursday @ Whitehouse 7:30
  4. Any news out of the land of Trojans? Been very quiet lately. What's up, have I missed something?
  5. Congrats on a great season and to a great group of coaches and players. Jasper has supported their teams tremedously throughout the years and they deserve to get the ring. I remember sitting on the Jasper side in the State Football Playoffs at SFASU....great bunch of fans in maroon all around...great atmosphere! WEll DONE.
  6. Congrats from a former district member. Keep it rolling and bring home the gold for all of East Texas!
  7. Heard there was trouble of an unspecified nature that caused him to "resign" his position. Not for sure what is going to happen, maybe in house choice since it is so late. Good athletes if someone can get them all going in the same direction.
  8. After seeing Splendora against Beckville, they will have a very hard time with the athleticism of WOS. Splendora is a very disciplined team, but it seems they live and die by the "3" and that will hurt you against very athletic teams who can cover the perimeter.
  9. What about Shepherd? Did graduation hurt that bad. I know they had a decent team last year.
  10. That is a true score. From what I hear the Pirates just never gave up and came up victorious on a BIG defensive play against Diboll at the end of the game. Went for two and the win instead of a tie and overtime. Gutsy call that cost them the win.....if you make it your a great coach.....but since you miss it.....who knows!
  11. How are things looking for Cleveland, Shepherd, and Cold-Springs district? All have new head coaches....any real changes going to be made? Also, I guess add Splendora to that list as well. Good luck who ever gets out in November, that other district is a KILLER.
  12. Shane Hanks was named the new AD/Head Football Caoch at Shepherd ISD on Thursday night before the sports banquet. Coach Hanks has done an outstanding job with the defense the last three years and deserves this chance to prove he is ready for the job. The job came open when Donald Hubbard left in April to become the AD/Head Football Coach at Beckville ISD in East Texas.
  13. this was a great game. Shepherd finally showed what they can do when the bats wake up. Hubbard pitched a great game and kept the dogs on edge with his knuckle and curve. Congrats to Shepherd for coming through in a big game, and congrats to the Dogs on winning a close game in the clutch. Good luck the rest of district.
  14. SilsbeeD, I totally agree with you. Caddie did not play against you guys due to eligibility....Could have been a different game, but we will never know. With him back and Hubbard's "little" brother taking over at QB, could be a good combo for the Pirates.
  15. Shepherd can contend if some young players step up. When you graduate 25 seniors it is tough at this level. Another Hubbard coming at QB will help, but the oline must gell quickly. Caddie was Newcomer in the old district....the stronger one as everyone says. He ran pretty dang good against the "big dogs." Clevelend only beat them 14-6, and they beat Splendora...so on any night, anything can happen. My prediction...watch out for Coldspring! If the new coach can motivate and discipline, they will be scarry in any district!
  16. Good job Jasper. We gave it our all and just could not overcome the athleticism of the Jasper team. A 3 point game at the half, 11 at the end of 3rd and, our 7 just could not keep up with the pressure of your 11-12. Good luck in the playoffs and make the district proud!
  17. I agree. Jasper is not a one man team. But rather, a team blessed with lots of athletes who play hard.
  18. Shepherd defeated Kirbyville Tuesday night 84-77. The Pirates are now 4-4 in district and 18-11 overall. They found their shooting touch once again. Both three point shooters were hot. One had 24 and the other 23. Kirbyville shot the ball well in the second half as well. Shepherd host Jasper at home and is looking for another good performance shooting in order to have a chance.
  19. Yes, Jasper did beat Shepherd, but our guys fought hard as usual. I do believe that Jasper has a great shot at beating Silsbee, no disrepect Tigers, they are that good. If I were not watching the Pirates play Coldspring Friday, I would be wherever that game is being played....going to be a track meet!
  20. After seeing the game on Tuesday, Jasper may be the best team in district. Very athletic and good basketball players. Good luck Silsbee, its going to be tough.
  21. Not to mention they continue to win without their 6'5 post who is out with grade problems. He was averaging somewhere around 20 points/game I heard.
  22. Would it not be some very good matchups with these two districts? I know Hudson has a strong team this year along with Palestine and Crockett. I do not know if they have the athleticism along with the basketball talent that 21AAA has.
  23. Shepherd vs. Coldspring is a great game in any sport. These guys play for blood. Lately, it has been all royal and white. The Pirates have their number in football, and this could be the year for basketball as well.
