Silsbee 86 Navasota 62/TIGERS ADVANCE TO SAN ANTONIO!

Recommended Posts

Joining the Tigers in the Class 4A Final Four are:

Levelland - Region 1

Dallas Lincoln - Region 2

La Marque - Region 4

THIS is how the pairings will be made UIL sets the #1 and #2 seed based on WINNING PERCENTAGE.  Then, a coin flip determines which teams the #1 and #2 play in the state semis.  Those matchups will be determined tomorrow morning.

Based upon winning percentage, Silsbee will be the #1 seed with La Marque probably being the #2 seed.  Thus the probable opponent for Silsbee in the state semi will be either Levelland or Lincoln.  The ACTUAL match ups will be announced tomorrow morning.

Congratulations on a great season so far Silsbee.  If you never win another game it has still been a very good season.  I'm not trying to sound negative or jaded, but I am wondering, is this the year the Tigers get past the state semi final game and make it to the finals?  Correct me if I am wrong, but I am told they have never made it to the final game before.  Better yet is this the year they win it all?  The other three teams are formidable.  Nobody said it would be easy.  The Tigers beat two tough teams in Huntsville.  They have played against great competition all year: Central, 6A Bellaire, which I saw, the teams in the Ft Bush tournament, tough teams in the SA tournament and at the Whataburger tourney.  All I am saying is let's do this.  We've gotten this close; might as well win it all.  Two more games.  Leave it all in SA.

In the two regional games, Silsbee had a combined 56 fouls. Their opponents, 38.

This was a great example of how much of an advantage Silsbee has with their quality depth. Having more than 4 players each game in foul trouble would doom most teams. Very much a blessing that Silsbee can go 10-12 deep.

    • This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up From the article: “As a parent, then as a homeowner, if you have some equity in your home, then you can say to your child, you know, ‘don’t take out the loan,’” she said. “‘I’ll take out some of the equity to help you pay for tuition so that you don’t graduate with extraordinary student loan debt, and so that when you graduate, you can do your dream job.’” Essentially, Harris suggested that parents give their kids a leg up in the world by being the ones to take out a loan instead. Except theirs would have much higher stakes than just needing to be paid back — it could mean losing their home. 🤦‍♂️
    • Good luck and safe travels. Bring it home.
    • It has been frustrating seeing the lack of coverage from virtually EVERY media outlet.  We (Chester) are in the SE Texas coverage area.  There are no radio broadcast from our area, and Ch 12 is the only one that has even mentioned it.   I know I could have gotten donations to cover a SETX Sports broadcast.  Oh well, water under the bridge - we aren’t as big as Silsbee, WO-S or PN-G.
