panther82coog05 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 I believe that from our game with Crosby their defense is fast enough to penetrate into the backfield against PLC and shut them down. If they can do that then I am sure their offense should seal the deal! Go Coogs!, Paint San Antonio RED!!! Quote
ATWILDCAT Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 I believe that from our game with Crosby their defense is fast enough to penetrate into the backfield against PLC and shut them down. If they can do that then I am sure their offense should seal the deal! Go Coogs!, Paint San Antonio RED!!! I don't think being fast enough will stop that PLC offense. Yes having that speed helps. but you have to be extremely disciplined to stop that offense and read the keys or you will overun the play. One weakness they do have is that they have fumbled alot and yes they don't have a passing game. They like to grind out yards and play keep away from the opposing offense. Crosby traveled well when they played Angleton and I'm sure they will be at the Alamodome, but it will seem like the whole town of Port Lavaca will be there, especially since it will be in SA. Will be an interesting game to follow. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
Bronco94 Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Crosby y'all got this, Represent 21-5A and take Port Lavaca behind the old wood shed. Quote
liltex Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Coogs you got this=Play disciplined & gap assignment defense. Then just keep bringing the wood like you've done all year.Pow Pow Shots fired  Quote
HurricaneCal Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 My worries from this game are 2011 against a run heavy Vidor team, 3 man front = loss, 2013 Elgin run heavy team, 3 man front = loss, 2014 PLC option team. I sure hope some adjustments are made or they are going to pound the rock and play keep away. They run ball well and have come on late in a good district. Quote
ATWILDCAT Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Crosby is surely talented enough to win this game, but don't expect PLC to be a pushover. Those kids already are playing with a chip on their shoulders due to the fact that alot of people expected them to not be able to compete against the teams in region 3, probably even their own friends and family, so those kids feel like they need to prove something. Even when they were down and the game was lost against us, they still played like they were down by 1 point and with a chance to win. I'm sure the Crosby coach will have his kids ready for this. They were expected to lose against Marshall and pretty much beat them down after spotting them 14 points, so their confidence is really high right now. Wish I could see this game in person. Quote
HurricaneCal Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 They won't be overlooked that's for sure. The folks I talked to expected them to win against Marshall. Everything I've heard is that if they don't turn the ball over they are tough to beat. They are disciplined and play hard. Quote
Footballer06 Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Different defense this year. If they choose to pound the rock, which is all they can do it appears, They will be running right into our strengths. If we can get up early they will be in trouble. Just ask BH, a mini me Calhoun.. Quote
Coug88 Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 We did expect Calhoun to win against Marshall. Not overlooking. Crosby has been playing with a chip on their shoulder all year. Too many thought that 3 particular players that graduated last year were the team and that we would be fighting for 4th this year. Quote
Eazy Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Brenham vs Calhoun rematch coming up. Quote
liltex Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Ok any bets I got Crosby, yeah you knew this already Cougarcal :D HurricaneCal 1 Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Please dont play that 3-3-5 versus these guys Coogs. Im taking Crosby by 10 with 2 fumble returns for TDs. Quote
Footballer06 Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 If we get up early this one could get ugly fast. Calhoun doesn't have the offense to make s charge against these Coogs. When they smell blood or Crabs in the water they will take care of business and CC San Antonio Takeover will be on full display!! Quote
cougar44 Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Dont worry about the Cougars looking ahead. One game at a time. Quote
Cougar14.2 Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Been watching every piece of film I could find on PLC and I think Crosby could struggle if they don't get to the 'Crab qb, Raheem Jones, early. The kid is a magician with the ball and looks to have at least 4.4 speed. The good thing about this matchup is that running qbs usually have a hard time finishing the game against Crosby's defense, neither Seay or Henderson could answer the final bell after the Coogs started putting the wood to them. Limit Jones' big plays and play solid assignment defense and I think the Cougars might actually win this one comfortably. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a game like the only bi-district loss we had in the last 7 years. If Crosby wins this one I think they play for the region. Quote
Guest ECBucFan Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 I know everyone wants a game close to home but I-10 is an easy and quick route, and the stadium (if you are not already familiar with it) is a great venue. Make it a weekend getaway. Enjoy the Alamodome and the City of S.A., Crosby fans. Quote
bullets13 Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Just stopped at Bucees in Luling outside San Antonio. There were four tour busses from Crosby and four school busses from PLC. Talk about a madhouse! Quote
jayhawk Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Time to bring home the win Crosby !!!! Quote
