Jasper Bulldogs @ Huffman Falcons

Recommended Posts

Just looking at comparative scores and records, Jasper should just stay home.  But also knowing that Jasper has at least two confirmed Division I commits in their defensive backfield I feel that Jasper may be the team to slow down the Huffman juggernaut.

Jasper 30

Huffman 27

While this will be the biggest test since Shepherd I'm betting the Falcons keep on rolling. I'd also bet your news of the commits wouldn't be so new to our Coaching staff. Those guys take their scouting, film and game planning pretty serious.

I agree. It's really no secret and I am quite sure the Huffman coaching staff knows exactly who those players are. They do their job very well.

I would certainly expect your coaches to be doing their job.  And no doubt, Jasper will be challenged to slow down your passing attack, or so I have heard from Jasper folks.  I agree that Huffman is the favorite to win.  I saw one rating service is picking Huffman by 16 points I think it was.  But I might question the use of the phrase "keep on rolling" though.  I think all the rating services picked LCM to beat Jasper also, and we know how that turned out.  I will be surprised if the margin is more than 7 points either way.

We will know after Friday night.  Good luck to the Falcons.

I'm not much into trash talking so to be clear, "keep on rolling" is a reference to getting the win. I am both old and old school so I'll leave the trash talk for the younger fellas.

Thanks, now I understand.  Sorry.I was looking at your comment in the context of the 50 and 60 plus points that Huffman has been hanging on most teams.

Huffman is unbeaten with a pretty weak pre-season schedule compared to Jasper. When you compare the common district opponents, Huffman's wins are more impressive in terms of point spread. Jasper hasn't faced any teams who had particularly strong passing games. I am not really sure how well the corners will hold up since we haven't seen them be consistently tested on this front. I also believe Jasper's running game will be the toughest that Huffman has faced thus far. Jasper's passing game needs work. Jasper's best strategy to win has to be on the ground - limit Huffman's offensive possessions and wear down their defense, because we will not win a shoot out.

Henderson

Tyler Chapel Hill

Carthage

Kilgore...............Take your pick!

I agree. Murderers row for Bi-District.

Personally, I think you guys are our only hope.

I think Henderson beats CH tonight which will earn them the district title. CH and Carthage will play next week for 2nd and 3rd. Kilgore pretty much is the 4th place team.

I think you guys beat Jasper tonight which gets you a share of the district championship. A win next week over LC-M gives you that out right title.

The rest will be Jasper, LC-M and then Silsbee, in that order.
