PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

WEEK 8

 

 

Offensive Players of the Week - Joe Clark, Quarterback, Buna and Deshawn Moreaux, Running Back, Hardin-Jefferson

 

Co-Offensive Player of the Week Clark was 8-11 (73% completion rate) for 280 yards and 5 touchdowns in the Cougars' 49-42 win over Kirbyville Friday night.  His Co-Offensive Player of the Week, Moreaux, had 270 yards and 4 touchdowns on only 6 carries (Yes, a yards per carry average of 45 YARDS).  He added a two point conversion in the Hawks' 54-39 victory over Hamshire-Fannett.

 

Defensive Players of the Week - Andy Laughlin, Linebacker, Vidor and Jonah Jackson, Safety, Buna

 

Laughlin had an interception and 12 tackles, the final one coming to foil a Goose Creek Memorial two point conversion in preserving the Pirates' 49-48 win over the Patriots.  Jackson, meanwhile, had 16 tackles, 2 for loss, a forced fumble and an interception in the Cougars' 49-42 win over Kirbyville.
