The Hamburger Depot/SETXsports High School Sports Show will be LIVE Tuesday night 6pm, at the Hamburger Depot location on Nederland Ave. in Nederland. Come join Mike Sanchez, Todd Broussard and all the gang as we review week 8, discuss our week 9 SETXsports rankings, announce our SETXsports week 8 players of the week, preview week 9 schedule of games and in final segment discuss your questions and comments that you post here on this thread.

 

Our show will be from 6pm-9pm.

1st year in a long time we had'nt had a Setxsports 6a team in major polls.There is currently no teams completely w/o a playoff shot.Some long shots w/help but 18 pt max gonna send somebody to the hardwood early.

 

21--5a 3 teams are in=King-Crosby-Dayt (dayt w/head to head vs BH,KWP,Humble.NC has Crosby,Dayt next

A lot of people on this site, say just wait til this 8 th, 9 th grade class is on varsity, just wait….waiting….. & being disappointed when their team doesn’t succeed.  All the while, NED has different philosophy….

NEXT man up. 

For years……just wait……..NED is gonna miss….  Washington, Malveaux, Hopkins, Raines, Wood, Shaw, Barrow, Stampley, Couron, Carr, Benjamin, Bellow, Sullivan, Mosely, Askew, Butler, Gentile, Yoder, Parks, Hood,  Barbay, Sonnier, Huber, Nunez, Ramoin, Boyd, Bijeaux, Brown, Cobb, Delage, Mozier, Mohica, Johnson, McPherson, Sumrall and so on…..(though these great players & others have played on the field), Neumann has been the master chess player, moving pieces strategically successfully.  It is what Neumann does with the players who you don’t hear their name that make Neumann the coach that he is.  Neumann doesn’t get as much credit for what he does year in and out with what he has.  Is Neumann overlooked as coach?

Maybe district should be saying…….just wait til Neumann retires, but you know what he would say to that, “NEXT man up!”

I've read nothing but praise for Neumann and how he runs his program on this message board, other than the pre MCM drivel, but the tune has changed after the last two weeks.  I think the board has answered the first question.  I can't imagine that a head football coach at any school would not focus on their program and coaching while they sit and wait for a class several years away to come through??? That's a recipe for not being there when that class does come through.

Agree there is praise on board, but does he receive the acknowledgement of his program and what he does year and year out regardless of the players that he has?

Exactly, what my question is regarding other schools banking on what the future holds and not focusing on what they do have on the field leading to disappointment???
