BlackShirts5 Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 My oldest boy is going into 7th this year. Will be at Higlands Jr in Baytown. I have to root for them but I don't see much coming out of the season other then him getting some school ball experience. Quote
The Goat Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 Be on the lookout Neel (rb) for the 7th TJ Titans......coming to a stadium near you. With that this years Titan Freshman team is loaded with linemen, size, skill, speed all over on both sides of the ball BigNedNOLA and Mr. Buddy Garrity 2 Quote
HAWK85 Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 BC 7th grade will surprise some this year ....big group with a couple of talented backs Quote
cougar14 Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 I've been in the oven all summer lifting weights with my little cub, a.k.a the garage with no fan or a.c. Hopefully when I pull him out for the fall he's ready to eat. I'm tired of hearing about what he wants to do to Dayton after they got it put on them last year. He's coming back over an inch taller came almost 15lbs heavier so hopefully the work pays off in the now 3 rivalry games we have. Quote
STiger85 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Can't wait to see what the Silsbee 7th grade has. I know the Silsbee 8th grade will be solid!!! BADSANTA and BMTSoulja1 2 Quote
MAYFIELD Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 I hope we get a lil more size out our middle school, I think the youth league has started also Quote

BlackShirts5 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 BellBiz30, does Dayton play Highlands? When do they normally have a schedule for the middle schools? Quote
jordibug15 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Lumberton's ms is usually pretty good Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Lumberton's ms is usually pretty goodI have heard that before but never asked this question: what happens when they get to the HS?? Quote
queenb77630 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 I know that the WOS 7th grade moving up to 8th grade this year will be one to look out for. My son has now moved onto High School so I will be looking here for updates on how the Stallions did. Cougar: Trust me when I say that the size of the kid does not matter. My poor little skinny kid had coaches and players looking at him and I actually heard them say he's nothing; he's too skinny. Then the game started and they were on their backs or flying through the air when that skinny kid tore into them. Good luck! Quote

deuces Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Lumberton has one middle school where most schools have at least two. Lumberton looks good until the other towns merge in high school. Quote

Raiders94 Posted July 31, 2014 Author Report Posted July 31, 2014 I see that Lumberton's 8th grade O-Line seams to be as big if not bigger than there varsity O-Line. Quote

When North Shore and Dayton are on your schedule it matters a lot. A 5-10 175 lb kid is going to get the nod over 5-5 125lb kid ALL day long if athleticism is equal. That's just the way it is, middle school and beyond. Do you need to be big? Of course not but when you play schools with 400-500 kids in a single grade you won't see much of that small guy throwing big guy around otherwise that kid is probably on the B team. Quote
