I know it is not High School Soccer; but I am curious as to who people think will win the world cup, and why?

Brazil and Argentina both got good draws, and with it being in South America, they're my favorites.

I agree with Bullets.  I think the "South America" factor will play a factor.  I think I am leaning towards Argentina.  I am not sure if the current Brazil team, although VERY talented, will be emotionaly strong enough to deal with the pressure of being the "favorite".

I didnt get to watch the USA game yesterday.  Did we look that bad (2 - 0 loss) or was the roster just fringe players trying to make the team???

Our defense is still kind of up in the air, and definitely needs work, but the defense yesterday was pretty much a total expirement, with a bunch of players who will most likely not play in the cup, and some who may not make the roster. what's scary about this year is that in the past, our defense has always been our strength. we might look bad and get outplayed, but the defense would keep us in games against much better opponents. well, we're pretty much the same team as last world cup through the middle and up front, but our defense is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY worse. add that to tough group we drew, and i'll be shocked if we make it into the knockout stages. But i HOPE i'm wrong!!!
