LCM travels to Waco to play in the Waco Midway tournament.

LCM should do well.  LD Bell likely the toughest team they face.  Bell was 14-0 in 6-5A last year.  The College Station schools should be pretty good too.  Magnolia very strong, but looks like you miss them.

Thanks for the background on Bell. Really hoping to have LCM see some good competition.  Best I can tell, the first four all have winning records, Bell and AMC with 5 wins each.

 Just heard LCM beat Mart 15 -4 in the first game. Taylor Fracc had TWO, 2 run HR's in the game. Chelsy White also had a 2 run homerun. Haley Mills was robbed of a homerun not once but twice by a girl making a great catch over the fence.

 

  LCM will take on A&M Consolidated at 5:00 PM. A&M Cons. won their first game as well and hit 6 homeruns in their game. So the 5:00 PM game may be a high scoring afair.

LCM beat A&M Consolidated 13-3.  Consolidated had defeated Bell 10-9 in the first game

Haley Mills led they way for an uncharacteristically patient Lady Bear offense against AMC going 4-4 with two doubles and 3 runs scored. Hope Russell worked out of a bases loaded 1-out jam in the first and was also hot at the plate with 2 hits including an RBI triple. Freshman Jenna James pitched the final two frames to close out the game. The AMC bunch made the Lady Bears look tiny and could flat out hit the ball, especially #16 Beth Ashley. The Lady Bears played solid defense around the infield to keep AMC to only 3 runs.

The AMC / LD Bell score surprises me. I caught only the last half of the game and it looked like all AMC.

LCM 5. LD Bell 3. Lady Bears go deep 4 times.

LCM wins pool D campionship game 7-6 over China Spring in a battle of pool unbeatens. Lady Bears dug a big hole and could do little right on offense or defense in the first five innings. Trailing 6-2 entering top of the 6th, Haley Mills started a four run rally to tie the game which was capped by an Alisha Fuss 3-run home run. Mills scored in the top of the 7th to give the final margin. Kayla Manuel was clutch off the bench in the 6th and 7th. Blythe Ferguson went deep for the Bears as well. Next up for LCM is a warm-up game with Waco Robinson and a game with pool C champion West.
