Well, my source in the district said so, and I believe St. Pius confirmed it.
Pay raise? Nothing concrete on that...
Like i stated in a previous Conversation, and the same goes for the merger school..
They better get a good coach, cause St.Pius is not a team you want to see your first game in school history lol..
5star QB
2 4star WR
And a 4star CB
And that's just in the class of 2019
Most schools dont even see that many stars in a 10year period
All and all i really hope BISD makes a good hire, im tired of all the negativity surrounding this school district just cause of a few individuals ..This could really go a long way into all the negativity going down

I read on Twitter that St. Pius was in need of games for Weeks 5 and 6. This would complete Silsbee’s schedule if they scheduled for Week 6.
Not here to throw shade, but i dont think St.Pius is a team Silsbee wants to see

Is it a unique mascot?? Plz no lion, tigers or bears

Imo You need a head coach whos firey and energetic, and one who demands respect and doesnt take no s*** but also one who is loved by his players (Tough Love), unfortunately thats what our young black male athletes respond better to, Not the coach whos trying to be buddy buddy with everyone and doesnt wanna push ppl to hard cause he wants them on the team..Trust me its alot of thoes out there
.Let your OC/DC handle the X's and O's. You just worry about Everything else..

That seems to be the case from what I hear. The "committee" consisting of students, teachers and community leaders looks to be just a "token" committee.
Personally, I didn't like the Hurricanes as a mascot, but if that's what the kids want, then so be it.
Wow I guess Miami is hearing it from the community how bad of a team name they picked smh

It didnt say BISD would only pay 86,000 just talked about salaries around the State..
I can tell you one thing if its under $95,000 alot of coaches wont be applying. Like someone else stated just take the money you would give to Central coaches and split it among the two schools between Head and assistant coaches.
If it is in fact around that number of $86k idk how BISD expects to compete for good coaches and if we do get one he'll gone after 2-3 successful seasons

And I'm glad they are opening up the head principal and football coach positions. I think those are the 2 most important positions in helping make things work when it comes to the merger. I really feel if nothing else, these 2 positions should be filled by outside applicants just to insure no favoritism amongst staff and students. The principal is will be over the entire student body and the head football coach will be over 100 plus boys. These 2 positions can have the greatest influence on the student body, school spirit and the kids buying in. And with football being at the beginning of the school year, along with volleyball, it is imperative to me, that they get the right man for the football job and get off to a good start for school spirit and the kids totally buying in. Basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, track, etc. I think can be filled by in-house candidates and be successful and smooth.
But if it comes down to Taylor vs Nelson, I have to go Nelson. I know the Ozen faithful are going to say but Nelson has been in trouble with UIL. Taylor is 3-15 in 2 years. Nelson is 21-31 in 5 years, 4 years in which he was at Ozen and went 16-28, twice to the playoffs in which one was a 3rd appearance and he was 5-3 this past year at Central.
But lets see who puts in for $86,000...
Its only 86,000??

No, that is not how it was meant. The thread question is, are they set to be a powerhouse in 6A.
I fully hope/expect to the new school to be very competitive. I guess it is your opinion on "powerhouse". There are a lot of questions that remain about the new school. We don't even know who is going to be coaching it. They will have a ton of talent, but there are a lot of 6A programs in the State with a ton of talent.
Like I said, I think they will be very good, probably the best team in this area year in and year out, but I am not expecting them to be in State every year. Hell, I don't expect them to be at State consistently. I would imagine they will get there, but not like the Patriots getting to the Super Bowl. So I think they are going to be very good, but no, I do not think they are going to be a "6A Powerhouse"?
Ok i get what you saying. I really thought you ment it as "they wont be at any point"
-
Im sorry i ment it as being familair to the Area, i didnt know he was from Silsbee tho

His name came up in a conversation yesterday. But I know he has to be making more $$$ there and has already established them. When your school averages 4500 students, and half of those are boys and your pay is good, why leave?
The demographics is changing from what i heard at a rapid rate , he may see the writing on the wall and get out while he can
-
I can think of One coach who may put in and have a good chance of getting it
Beaumont Native David Green...He has NS rolling every year and is a proven winner

So here's the question. If you took this year's Central and Ozen teams and combined them, would they beat Memorial? And would they be considered a state power house?
Yea, a healthy Ozen and Central would imo, with the Merger i think Central keeps both thoes transfers (Dill and Williams) that left due to the factor of being a contender and magnet school for scouts. As far as powerhouse, idk, do i think they could beat a Sam Houston or Dentin Guyer idk, depends on the coaching but i do think they would be the best team basketball wise in SETX and a top 10 Greater Houston Area team

As i stated to Mr.Shapiro kids or parents cannot get in their feelings. 15 Man roster for varsity that’s it , 12-15 for both JV A/B,same for freshman. The true question is how many of the those kids are varsity level players especially if you a junior on jv aometimes the writing is on the wall not for all but for some it is. The truth is unless kids are putting in the work during the summer they will get left behind period point blank. I hear ppl talking about scholarships how many guys have earned a scholarship from all 3 Bmt schools in the last 5 yrs. if you do a breakdown it seems like a lot but you can be fooled by so called talent. Last year only 3 kids from any of the Bmt schools went on to play college ball. Here is a very harsh reality about HS . No matter how many points certain players score, it may not ever translate in to playing Juco,NAIA,D1,D2 or D3. Ppl may not like it, but it’s the absolute truth.
May be the best thing...The cream will rise to the top...Competiton will be the best thing for this school which will make the team overall better

What about Union Highschool Hurricanes...that sounds pretty good.
But like yall Stated before they need to bump that pay to get some top notch coaching to this new school

Will be a hard sell to the BISD tax payers after the thievery during the last bond.
Sad the kids have to pay for the actions of a few thieves.
Hopefully they don’t, It would be a shame for the kids to have to stay at that Small campus (Ozen) ...hopefully tax papers do was right

Shaka Smart needs to learn to Start recruiting shooters...we have NO shooters 9n this team, unless Davis feels like sinking a few, other than that if I played Texas I’d pack the paint and make Texas beat us from the outside...
We’re young but so is 75% of college basketball so I’m not trying to hear that excuses ...
-
Crazy these kids will be teammates next season
-
Not sure if we’re talking about Guys coming out next year or future kids but
Bryce Anderson from Vincent/Cathedral is a kid to watch, he’s an 8th grader and just played in the US under 15 game in Dallas, as well as been invited to National combines..Not sure what HS he’s going to, (I’m hearing WB) but where ever he goes they’re getting a player and a future star

I was just referring to what would be the proper grammatical way to name the new school if the existing names are used.
Central-Ozen(C-O) Consolidated is good. I think using a big cat for mascot should remain. Lions or Tigers.
Also, consider naming the new school with a historical figure that relates to both schools. Levias-Smith
Everybody is a Lion or Tiger,,,Let’s be different lol

This color scheme with the State of Texas and CO outlined in white somewhere
That would be cool, I’d rather the Gold and Maroon ,I love how those two colors complement each other, not to mention taking a color from both schools

Maybe,
only reason i can disagree is becaues its Basketball...Kids want to play Basketball no matter who the coach is, now granted, if one of thoes coaches do get the job, they will have familiarity due to being in this area, and also it wont take as long for the kids to buy in, due to them knowing of either coach but i dont think kids will quit just cause you get a good coach from El Paso (just an example) ..Basketball is a game.the kids love specially being from Beaumont where the kids are actually really good at it, not to mention they'll probably be excited no matter who the coach is becaues they get to play with some of the best players from the city as well as area..if that dont get there juices pumping and confidence sky high it don't matter who the coache is
