  1. Parent are going to have to take matters into their own hands. Most coaches in the area do not do a good job of calling in their games. Kids like to see their name in the paper. It's funny during football season the Beaumont enterprise has several articles on a lot of teams. They maybe small but at least it is an article. In todays paper they had one article on the WB and Lumberton girls game and the rest was a page telling the scores and who scored what. You can put 30 of them on one page of a scap book. I am thankful we have the Orange leader. If the coaches send it in they print it and it is an article not stats. My daughter has 3 scrap books and they are full because of the Orange Leader. Coaches, if a reporter is not at your game sit down and write something and send it in. It does not take a lot of time.

You folks are lucky to have the Orange Leader. I wait until bedtime to read the Beaumont Enterprise every day so I can go to sleep with nothing on my mind.  ::)

  2. i always watch ch 6 because they at least give mention to girls sports. but the reality is that there are just far more people interested in boys sports than in girls sports. just attendence factors make that clear. don't get me wrong, i was a high school coach for girls sports for several years. i love checking up on the local girls teams, but the bulk of the people are more interested in the boys scores.... that's life i guess. that's why i am so thankful for a great message board like this one.... the last 2 years have been great for me. i have been able to keep up with everything going on.

SE Texans don't support girl's athletics worth a SH*T, and that's putting it mildly.

Go to a girl's BB game in West Texas or the Panhandle and the stands will be packed and I guarantee the TV and newspaper coverage is equal to or in some cases better than that provided for boy's athletics.

  3. Stelly is a good player and he'll get another chance next season.

Trammell didn't have the season he had last year. He tore his right ACL during two a days and missed the first 4 games of the season until he could get a knee brace to allow him to play "until EC's season ended or his knee gave out". The kid showed a lot of cajones to play the entire season on a torn up knee.

  4. Kelley could meet up with Dallas Bishop Lynch.

Bishop Lynch is coached by Bill Persinger who was one of my HS Coaches when I played in 1975. Persinger was one of the toughest coaches I ever had. I remember getting our butts handed to us one game. The next day in practice we ran grass drills, gassers & 100 yard bear crawls for over an hour. When it was over, he looked us in the eye and said "You SOB's remember this cause if you ever get beat like that again, this is what you can expect!"

  5. I will only say goodluck to the hardin players but not the coaches. i heard from a player that the hardin coaches were taunting the ec coaches and thomas saying come on keep him in, keep him in. Talk about disrespectful. Wanting to keep a player in, so maybe they could hurt him even worse??? i hope that showed all of yall that they dont need thomas to win, ecspecially then when they shut down the #1 QB and #1 WR.  Hemphill is gonna win this one big!!!

I understand one of the Hardin coaches refused to shake Coach Valastros hand after the game. I also understand one of the Hardin coaches called EC's Head Coach ValA$$ro.

If this is true, that's pretty classless.
