I talk to some Kountze players and lookin like the Lions D-Fence is gonna be pretty steller this season.

EC got beat in the playoffs BUT at least they got to go to the dance. Sans last year, that's a heck of a lot more than Puna can claim.

I like Hargraves and wish him the best BUT I question the judgement of any coach that tries to coach at the same High School from which they graduated especially in a tight knit community like Winnie. There's a lot of truth in the old adage "You can never return home"

Sportswriters, over-the-hill dads and various other jock sniffers will have no say in who wins the district championship. The championship will be decided by the players and coaches on the field.

For the record, EC will retain it's district crown.

I don't have a problem with it. As a previous poster stated, school is a business. For any business to be successful, revenue must exceed expenditures. Schools are no different. To increase revenue, you can either increase taxes or levy charges to the customer, in this case is the athletes that benefit from the athletic program.

well lets see how EC will do with out their right hand man TT if it was not for him EC would have been just a regular team in the district just ask kountze he was out that game kountze wins something is not right EC always depends on that 1 ball player? Hope they have somebody else to depend on.

Your time would be better spent worrying about Hardin. EC will do just fine without TT.

What a race you guys are going to have this year. Sounds like there are some heated rivals.

The perception of an EC - Hardin rivalry is one sided. EC views the Hornets as a nuisance little brother rather than a rival. Hardin craves the recognition the Bucs have earned over the years.

One other thing, the 2000 through 2006 years were a whole different system. The 2007 system is only getting better. Don't get too confident, we're gonna bring it this year and many years to come.

Me thinks Bushpilot suffers from  bad case of little man syndrome.  ;D

I will concede this to the 2007 Hornets, it took 4 quarters for EC to hang half a hundred instead of just 2 quarters. Course, the Bucs did pull several starters in the second half of last years game.  ;D

I think EC may win 5 games this year. Unless they're as big as everyone in Winnie's mouth, then they might win 8.

The Bucs might only win 5 but you can bet your sweet lil' arse, Hardin will be one of those showing up in the "L" column.

I hate the fact that school board members can be related to students I know a teacher (not from my school) whom in doing her job didn't please one of the school board members kids...her contract wasn't renewed this year

If that were a requirement, East Chambers wouldn't have enough candidates eligible to run for school board!

Yea but they dont have Tramain Thomas anymore so its prolly goin to be hard for them to win District, Anahuac and Hardin will give them a test this year

I think Kountze will be a bigger test than Anahuac or Hardin.

EC is losing some good kids due to graduation but they have all but 2 starters returning on their O-line and their backfield will be in decent shape with Raymond & Carrington.

Defensively there are a lot of ??????. Gone are Thomas,Trammell, White, McDonald & DeVillier and those guys will be hard to replace.

Visitors stands are being torn down. Be sure to bring a lawn chair this fall.

I think the plan is to increase seating capacity on the visitors side. EC should have a pretty good set up when everything is finished this fall.

I do wish we could move one of the light standards in front of the visitors stands so we could be like our pals in Buna!  ;) ;D
