  1. Talked to a friend up in NE Texas, and I hear Arp is increadibly good... Arp is also about a 20 minuit drive to Tyler JC, so Arp has a virtual home court game... Sedrick is a freakish player, I saw that two years ago... The deck is stacked against EC, but the game still must be played before anyone advances  ;).

While Tremain can offset Sedricks damage, the rest of the Bucs must step up. If V-Mac can play his best game, and Jacoby help with the scoring and handeling the ball, and Carlos clog up the paint, I believe EC has a fighting chance.

Fan support will definitly show up for EC. Against Corrigan and Crawford, EC fans outnumbered the opponents 3-1, so this team will be backed, long distance or not. EC needs to come into this game with the proverbial "chip on the shoulder", and play wide open and fearless. Arp might be overconfident, after two blowout playoff wins...You just never know...strange things can happen, especially in a single game  ;)

    GO BUCS!!!

Hope Coach Hank remembers to bring the Astroglide .... EC is gonna need it playing in Tyler!  :(

  2. Ok,  so the deed was done.  There's no going back and fixing it at this point right?  So what do we do now.  Get a life?  These kids are our life.

Orangefield has been fighting an uphill battle since I've been watching.  Really,  how can you hurt us now?

Does anyone who reads this board have suggestions as to how we should  handle this situation?  We know Navasota will go to state now and honestly I'm not the least bit bitter about that.  Just disappointed that our Lady Cats were cheated. This cheating has got to stop.

    Suggestions anyone?  All replies appreciated.

My suggestion is build a bridge and get over it. Use this experience as a means to teach your daughter that life isn't fair and there will be times you just gotta take it in the shorts and move on. Take the high road and be remembered for losing a tough, possibly unfairly decided game with class & dignity.

Our girls were over it the next day. Believe me they get life lesson all the time. How many times do I have to say, this is not about losing a game. To be honest I wish that girl would have not fouled our girl and the game would have been over with in the field of play. That would have been a lot easier to take. We will get over it but until then I will do everything in my power to make sure this official never calls a game again. To be honest, nothing will be done to this guy. But at least we tried. For all you people whom seem to have all the answers. I hope it happens to you oneday. Then maybe you will understand how we feel.

I've had 4 of my kids go through HS & AAU athletics and I've seen my share of screwins' by the guys in the striped shirts. I understand your frustration but complaining about it won't get the referee in question removed from his chapter and won't change the outcome of the game.

I agree with you, we can't change the outcome of the game and I know that nothing will be done to that official but there always that slimmer of hope. Writing on the message board is a way of relieving all that tention. I just had to vent, AGAIN and AGAIN.

I understand completely. When my oldest daughter was a Freshman in HS (she's 28 years old now) she was playing in a tourney at Amarillo, Tx. The other team was in foul trouble and only had 3 girls on the court. The ref made sure that our girls couldn't get the ball past half court without calling a travel, double dribble or offensive foul. He was favoring the other team and making no attempt to conceal it. I wanted to confront him after the game and fortunately my wife got me cooled down and prevented me from doing something foolish. His name was Mal Carr and to this day, I have no use for the man.

As much as I enjoyed watching my kids play ball, I'm glad their HS athletic careers are over. Too much stress for this old man!

  5. TE - Vance McDonald signed with Rice University.

He wasn't on Rice's web-site as one of their signees.  Did he sign late? Or, is he going to try and walk on the football team?

He signed a LOI on national signing day. I spoke to his parents last night and they are thrilled. Not sure why Rice website doesn't have him listed cause he's getting a full ride.

  6. No shame on Big Sandy. Evadale needs to be able to defend itself and not depend on the mercy of other schools trying to better themselves and prepare for district and the playoffs. Embarrassing is the only word I can think of. This is no little dribblers league. I cannot think of another traditional power that has fallen this bad. Glad they've got a great gym.

Bullsh*t!  How do you better yourself as a team by beating the dog out of a team that is obviously less talented than you?

I question Big Sandy's sportsmanship by their decision to leave the starters in the game until the end of the third period. Based on the final score, I'm sure the game's outcome was long decided by that time.
