While I may not agree with everything, I applaud and welcome a different point of view. Some of the posters here do not realize how boring this forum will be if everyone thinks the same. Hope you hang around

Does not appear to be enlighhtened based on what I can see.

[Hidden Content] First email sent 2008....so, roughly 7 years worth of emails to find 7 emails each containing a racist joke. They have 72 officers, so let's say each employee only sent two emails a day. That would be 367,920 emails over 7 years.....after all that searching .01% of all emails were found racist. Racism is wrong....no one should be treated unfairly because of the color of their skin. While some jokes are in bad taste, I hear black comedians tell white racial jokes, and white comedians tell black racial jokes.......the common denominator is they are "jokes"..... I agree they should of been fired for being stupid and using poor judgement. To make a claim they would treat blacks unfairly because of a couple email jokes......I'm not convinced and I think they are blowing this up to save face......

^^Good post, makes you think^^

EnlightenedMessiah seems to be bringing up some good questions. I do have a few atheist friends who like to call people stupid for believing in God.......at the same time they would get offended when people say they will burn in Hell.......

Why?

Very surprised he came out with this stance. Looks like the man has some guts

Why Not Expand Medicare To All Age Ranges?
thetragichippy replied to EnlightenedMessiah's topic in Political Forum
They actually did before and during Obama's term..... Ten Steps to Transform Health Care in America Act (S. 1783) introduced by Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) July 12, 2007. Every American Insured Health Act introduced by Senators Richard Burr (R-NC) and Bob Corker (R-TN) with co-sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK), Mel Martinez (formerly R-FL) and Elizabeth Dole (formerly R-NC) on July 26, 2007. Senators Bob Bennett (R-UT) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) introduced the Healthy Americans Act on January 18, 2007 and re-introduced the same bill on February 5, 2009. Patients’ Choice Act of 2009 introduced by Senators Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Richard Burr (R-NC) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Devin Nunes (R-CA) on May 20, 2009. H.R. 2300, Empowering Patients First Act introduced July 30, 2009 by Rep. Tom Price (R-GA). Now keep in mind when Obama was trying to pass the bill, Republican's tried to negotiate and had asked for meetings.......Obama would have nothing to do with it...... That's why it was named Obamacare.......He owns it. [Hidden Content] -
Why Not Expand Medicare To All Age Ranges?

Not really a fair observation or proposal......The President will probably veto anything they run across his desk. No way will he let a viable solution replace his baby..... -
Why Not Expand Medicare To All Age Ranges?

I don't see medicare/medicade going away. If Obamacare does go away, it will have to be replaced with something, no way the left will rest with no public health care. Why not reform the medicare system...... -

Unions were needed back in the day. I personally don't think they are as useful or powerful as they once were and don't think they are needed with todays laws..... With that said, I still would never cross a picket line out of respect. I also wish a speedy negotiation so everyone can get back to work!

I happen to work in a place that I see a lot of different professions on a daily bases. Today, a pastor walked in and I brought up our topics on religion. What stood out the most in our entire 45 minute conversation was something he said when I ask if Gay people would go to Hell or "Little Johnny", our Buddhist friend from the other thread would go to hell......His response was, "I don't know, I don't judge. It is not in my job description to judge. It is way above my pay grade, I will let the Man upstairs make those decisions. My job is to love my fellow man and let everyone know the word of God." Which brought up Luke 6:37: Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned. 38"Give, and it will be given to you. So, why are some of you condemning Little Johnny? Why are you judging Gays? Is that not above your pay grade? I think those are valid questions and worth a discussion......

Ok, so you would die on Sat and not Sunday.....but why did he change his mind? That is a serious question?

Exodus 35:2 Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death

2/3's of the Earths population would burn in Hell if the end was today. That is not counting those that believe in God but sinned....... You have some work to do getting that message out........

Here are some of the things I have a hard time understanding...... From what I gather, there are about 2.18 billion Christians, leaving 6.9 billion that are not, are roughly 2/3's of the world population. Are those 6.9 Billion going to burn in hell because they don't believe? Buddhism teaches (summary) (1) to lead a moral life, (2) to be mindful and aware of thoughts and actions, and (3) to develop wisdom and understanding. So, Little Johnny is born to a family that believes and practices Buddhism. He was taught not believe in God. He lives his life strictly by the teachings of his faith and never deviates from the 3 above principles..... Is little Johnny going to burn in hell?

Yes, some folks want to argue their way into a painted corner....... and still be wrong..... They hate admitting when you have a valid point.... Too bad everyone can't debate and recognize when someone has a point. -
Guys, I believe in God..... I also believe that being gay is not a choice. I used to think it was, but me being straight as they come, I cannot imagine any way I would choose to be with a man. I honestly think I would die first, first out of pride, second out of gross...... And as 77 just pointed out, my God loves everyone.....

I'm running down the middle of climate change...... I guess it may have to do with a guy wanting me to drive an electric car, while he runs around in private jets and lives in a 20 room mansion that spends 20 times the national average in electricity and gas..... As for personal freedoms...... Wait, maybe that should be another topic...... -
