Left at halftime.  WO-S schemed Liberty's offense to perfection.  I have heard of 10 men in a box..this was 11 men within 3 yards of the ball..no where to run, no where to hide.  Nose guard was a submarine  and the ends were jack knifing on the edge.  Very impressive defensive game for WO-S.  The WO-S offense doesn't have near the same feel as last year's team, but still plenty of weapons and they run downhill really quickly.  Good job Stangs.

To those who followed this thread to follow a football game and got treated to both racial and race baiting comments for the second week in a row, on behlaf of SETXsports, I apologize.  I was tempted to set out a warning post after last week's game but I thought that some would be able to better contain themselves.  I guess I was wrong and I happened to be out of pocket as I was taking my wife to dinner for her birthday, so I am just catching up now.
But I can do something about it now to see that the chances of this happening again are remote.
The Warden is pissed and some folks will be sent to hole!

McKinney Lion running back Matt Gadek carried 48 times for 594 yards in a 63-50 win over Plano East tonight.
That breaks the previous record of 587 rushing yards in a single game.

They use all 4 grades so each grade level is accounted for at least twice during enrollment.  It is not uncommon for smaller district to have a "bubble" year where enrollment is significantly higher in that one grade level.  If you did not count seniors and that group was only counted in the 10th grade for the first time then that big enrollment would only affect that district in one enrollment.
Either a class gets counted in the 9th and 11th grade year or it gets counted in the 10th and 12th grade year.  Every class gets counted twice under the current system.

You hit the nail on the head Reagan. Two years in a row PAM ran through our pregame warm up talking garbage. Last year at the 50 and this year in the end zone. This year a coach was actually following the team and did not discourage this activity.  Xbox was on the field pouting all game and then a coach throws himself onto the turf pouting. Grown ups lead by example and we wonder why discipline and penalties cost PAM the game.

Glad the Coogs scheduled a replacement game. There's always injury risk, even in practice. We are a young team. The more reps the better.
Heres to hoping this game is injury free and that both teams get better as a result.
    Go Crosby!!!

Update on Paxton Bryan, the Silsbee receiver that took a helmet to helmet hit from Jasper player. He regained his sight 30-40 minutes after the helmet to helmet hit. He has a concussion that he has to go to the hospital for checkups, also a knot behind his ear that was caused by the helmet to helmet hit from the Jasper player. There was blood coming out of his ear but it was from a scratch from his helmet. He has been cleared to go to school at the end of the week just for half a day only. Hopefully Paxton can start full days at school next week. Paxton is improving each day and he is hopeful to rejoin his team in a few weeks or so. TigerNation!!!

We were taught either hit the man with the ball or anybody else in your way, not hit the qb seven yards behind the play when he's clearly out of the picture.....

It's a cheap shot, plain and simple. Game doesn't need that kind of play. That kind of play is completely unnecessary.

No idea, but I know if cooler heads don't prevail this series won't be around for the long.  Neither coach is going to put his players in a position for crap like that to happen.  There has always been mutual respect from Jasper and Silsbee, WO-S, Newton or whoever..about the only team I know that we had major issues with was way back in the day and was with Kirbyville.  But that was a couple generations ago and water under the bridge now.

Hate follows a lack of respect.  Hate isn't what you are sensing though, it is called "cover up".  You are like a teflon crawfish.  Nothing going to stick to you and you have a million routes of escape before you will ever get caught in a wrong.  But yes, it has been fun watching you weave your way through your landmine of comments meant to make it seem like Jasper didn't deserve to be on the field with Crosby because they were 1/2 the size.  Be glad it wasn't Newton, because if it had been, you would be 0-1 thanks to a team 1/4 your size.  You obviously can't believe that but the rest of us here know it to be a fact!

Having seen Crosby and being very familiar with BH program I feel capable of adding some color.
Crosby's speed will hurt BH.  They have at a couple athletes that are as fast as they come.   BH is more physical than Jasper was this past Friday.  I don't see Crosby's o-line having as much success as they had and Crosby having to go around moreso than through.  Look for sweeps, shuffle passes, reverses and screens from Crosby to get to the open field.

Nah, you'll be one of those ones who say, "Delete my account."  Then, a week later will have come up with another title but the same old bull.
You see, you are harboring the same ideas that you claim to be "railing against" with your posts here.  You try to make it sound like Crosby deserves to be mentioned in 5A among the Aledos of the world.  Perhaps such statements carry water around Lick Skillet, but I would imagine that they would garner quite a bit of laughter of the statewide stage.  Thus, I would ease talk on other programs being laughing stocks.  And until Crosby, does something, reaching at least a state semifinal more than once in a blue moon, the air of superiority that you attempt begins to really stink.
The shame of it all is that Crosby does have a quality football program and have for a while, every since the days of Larry Haynes and Kevin Flanigan as far as I am concerned.  And they currently have a super coach in Jeff Riordan.  It would be easy to just to rely on that to show the quality that Crosby has.  But no, that is not good enough.  You feel the need to show disrespect to area programs, some who have a storied history in Texas High School football.  Yes, I know, you have made it quite clear that means little to you, but the sad fact for you is that while their achievements may have been sometime in the past, they easily dwarf anything that the Cougars have accomplished then or now.  Those trophies that you wish to dismiss may have collected dust, but they are still there and that is more than can be said about your beloved's trophy case.
We choose to show some respect and reverence to those accomplishments because it is a matter of respect.  You choose not to show such respect, that's your option.  But if you expect to be lauded for it, you have definitely been posting on the wrong site for a long time and that you seem to get persistent pains in the backside because of being called out about it makes a break from this site seem appropriate.
But you said you were done, what? Earlier yesterday morning?  Yet you felt the need climb right back on to spread your venom and even somehow felt the need to justify it.  And even now I am sure that I will hear some repartee that you believe to be witty about how you believe that West Orange-Stark's last two state championships were the result of some gift by the UIL.  You see, your insults have become sickeningly predictable.
But as I have said to others, SETXsports.com is not required reading, so if you wish to leave, believe me nobody will stop you.  For this site was here before you or I ever climbed on, and chances are good it will be on long after both of us have signed out for the final time.
Oh, and good luck on that "solid" you expect to get from the UIL and don't worry, Jasper is not moving up in classification.

I made it to the game at 9 minutes to go in the first quarter.  Score was 13-0.  I thought “That was quick” and got to my seat.  I am a Crosby parent with 2 kids in the school system with one in athletics.  I am a little biased but this is what I saw –

    ·       Jasper has some undersized kids that play a lot bigger.  The JV/Freshman teams didn’t seem to have that issue.  They looked big and played that way.

    ·       Crosby throttled back in the first half, again.  I am just a dude in the stands.  But I really think Crosby scores fast in the first half and pulls back.  Not just intensity from the kids.  Playcalling seems to drop off.

    ·       One of the starting interior LB for Crosby is a soph.  One of the nicest kids from a great family.  He had 4 solo tackles and 1 sack.

    ·       Defense looks young.  Except…

o   2 minutes to go in the 2nd half and Jasper has a long run to the Crosby 1 yard line.  Jasper had a sideline penalty on the run.  Backed them up 10 yards.  Defensive line for Crosby just brutalized them at the point of attack on 1st and 2nd down.  3rd and 4th down were both sacks.

    ·       Jasper recovered an onside kick (perfectly executed) to start the second half.  Promptly scores.

    ·       (Gulp)

    ·       Jasper recovered another onside kick.  I am not a mean guy but this kinda stuff is why I would expect a team to be ruthless at least for the first half.  Jasper has momentum and is knocking on the door to taking the lead in this game.

Ball game is back and forth at this point but Jasper is starting to look winded and Crosby is playing very vanilla.

Jasper offense is built for ball control and consistent scores but only has one speed.  There is no up-tempo.  They are down by 7 for most of the second half and even have the ball with a minute to go.  They never changed tempo.

Jasper never stopped fighting.  Crosby left a lot on the table here.  Not including the 2 TD’s called back for holding.

Tough game next week for Crosby.
