From what I saw from CB last year, if they move a couple of those freshmen up they would probably be 2 of the 5 best athletes on the team. I don't understand the wasting of Gibson on defense. How much is he really going to help them out over there? One guy can only do so much. I could see if he were a 4.3 guy and you wanted him to play centerfield and keep everything contained, but that's not really his thing. Stick him on offense, throw it to him 10-12 times a game. That would open things up for the run. I just don't see anyone in the backfield, other than McWhirter, that can do anything with the ball in their hands. Where are the Gary Allens and the Eric Polks at. Seems like there should be someone over there that can tote the rock. I remember when Clear Lake really had the offense cooking, they had Geno Blow at fullback and Jones at running back with Osmond at qb. McWhirter could do a nice impression of Osmond if he had been brought up in the system and had the whole intricacies of the fakes and the timing down, which he does not. He is just sorta winging it out there right now. The timing needs to be perfect for the offense to work, and it is not. But to the point, there is no Geno Blow or Elrick Jones to hand and pitch to. Just have to be patient I guess. The kids coming up sound like they should be a good group. Josh Zellars does remind of Ell Roberson a little. I think he has the same type of running ability at the same stage. Roberson had an infinitely better qb coach teaching him.

I liked McWhirter last year, and I like him even more this year. He's the kinda guy that would be all-district at Dayton. Don't have enough structure around him for him to reach his potential at Sterling. I hear Sterling has a great freshman class coming, but I just wonder where the heck are the athletes for Sterling? They just don't have much outside of the obvious Gibson. Lee will have an excellent offense i they can get in sync and cut down the mistakes. Huge if for a Lee Gander team these days. I think they have too many athletes on offense honestly. The Gomez kid, I think that's his name, never really gets the ball. Between Landry, Zellars, Richardson and Johnson, they have enough athletes to move the ball down the field on offense. I would switch the other kid over to outside linebacker maybe and move Kion inside. He would be of much more use on that side with his athleticism than he is being the 5th or 6th option on offense. How did Lee score in the second half? I had too far of a drive to get home, plus I am driving to Chicago tomorrow or the day after, so I need my rest.

Mcwhirter lookin like michael Vick He doesn't understand the intricacies of the option offense yet though Finally gives it to full ack Down to the two Td rangers Lee defense actually looked better than exPected so far 4th dOwn conversion killed them then a facemask on what would have been another 4th down
Baytown Sterling vs Baytown Lee Freshman B RSS 14 Lee 0 Freshman A RSS 41 Lee 0 JV A RSS 33 - Lee 0 Freshman A is loaded for Sterling. Also noticed that Dayton freshman A score, pretty close game. Are all the 8th grade A kids from last year on that team or did some get moved up?
I have a feeling that won't be the last time that Lee 9th A gets pounded like that. The clock is ticking for Lee. If they don't do something this year or next, the window has closed on them for the foreseeable future. I am fairly certain that last year's freshman team for Lee was 0-10. -
Boys, boys....settle down. I think we all know deep down that GCM is going to run away and hide in this one. 35-13

Sezar seems pretty fast. GCM has a couple of guys that ran similar times to him at the district meets. Sezar ran an 11.30 to get second at district, while GCM had a couple of guys run 11.20 and 11.19 in their district preliminaries. These are all FAT. Sezar went on to post better wind-aided times at regionals and state. Those guys may have graduated from GCM though, so I can't tell you one way or the other. The sub 11 times that Sezar put up at regionals and state are definitely good for a freshman in 4A.

BigD, good to see you around. I can only imagine what Olin would be able to do with the offensive skill position talent that Lee has this year. It fairs favorably to the 1997 Ell Roberson offense. The receivers are even better this year than that. In year's past, when Drew Tate and Jeremy Moses were there, they had at least serviceable defenses. Not great, not even average, but serviceable. This year..... I don't see how they will stop anyone at all for more than 5 or 6 plays. I hope to be proven wrong. None of these guys would likely start on any of Olin's defenses. -

The two linemen were year before last. Landry and zellars were out for the most part last year with injuries. They are all a year older too so of course thatmakes.a difference. They have a future college qb and three future college receivers so if coach cant get something going from that then maybe iys time for a new coach -

If Lee doesn't average 30 pts/game this year, it will have been complete mismanagement of offensive personnel. They can't stop anyone, but they have the horses to score on anyone in this district assuming proper gameplanning and execution, which is a HUGE assumption with Lee. -

Man, if Lee holds sterling to 35 that would be a minor miracle. -
I am here to tell you that the open tryouts did not successfully find many promising applicants. #18 who played corner and also some receiver looked good. He's a guy that I am having trouble placing a name on. #2 at Safety was fast and had good size, just didn't look too comfortable at that position. #8 at olb was the best linebacker they got. They have two second string inside backers that were better than the first team. They looked like the backup running backs. T.Lee was ok at one outside backer spot, then they can stick #8(Richardson I believe) at another one, and the two back up running backs in the middle. That is their best shot at slowing anyone down. I want to believe that Angleton's offense is also just really good and difficult to stop. (wishful thinking)

ok, makes sense How did GCM do in their scrimmage? I could see Lee going winless this year. I don't see how they are going to stop anyone on defense. This is the type of defense that is going to give up 4 play 80 yard drives all day long against good teams. They HAVE to play guys both ways if they want to get any stops at al.
