1. Crosby and Nederland would make sense.
2. Any chance they squeeze another game in there in BMT and make it a triple header?  I might actually try to make it if they did that.
3. Brenham seems like a good guy.  He is pulling for a very good team over there.  They have a lot of athletes. I was just responding to the question that started the thread. Just one man's opinion....
4.

Dayton won't be beat again this year.
Long way to go before we crown anybody.  If they get by Brenham, and that's a big if, they will prolly get El Campo.  No doubt, that our side of the bracket is loaded.  Way too early for that comment.
Kind of the whole point of this thread is it not? It's too early for anyone to comment on how deep anyone is going to go then, so let's just delete the thread....
5. There goes any chance I had of watching Dayton play this round.  Way over in Beaumont huh.... Seems like a weird neutral field for those two teams.
6. Not at all... I truly feel that way. Felt that they were going to be a handful after watching them against Angleton(assuming they got the turnovers under control). Have seen/heard nothing to change my mind since.
7. Dayton won't be beat again this year.
8. fricka fracka.... Good season Ganders...
9.
Fresh A GCM  36 REL    8 JV GCM  47 REL    0
Cmon man....can't we put a moratorium on providing any more Lee scores around here? Shouldn't this be considered cruel and unusual punishment?
10. BH will win this one. Their defense is too good.  17-10
11. I've never seen a junior high that doesn't play its players both ways.  This isn't high school. Think about it.  It's only one grade level.  High school has 10th, 11th and 12th all on the same varsity team.  Even then they still play guys both ways a lot of times. If a 4A high school had to play only seniors, then probably every single player would play both ways.
12. BH is right. That part of town is going down the tubes. However, they still have more guys on the team right now that will play college ball somewhere than Barbers Hill does. So, it's not completely talent.
13. I thought of a good movie that depicts the path of the Baytown Lee football program the last few years. Wildcats, the movie with Goldie Hawn.... except you have to start at the end of the movie when they are good, then hit rewind and watch it backwards back to the beginning when the qb is selling stolen watches on the sidelines during the game.
14. Yeah if I could bottle it up and sell whatever it takes to be a winner I would be rich. No doubt that Dayton has a good thing going. Lee has had the bottom fall out after the new coaching hire. Heck, just last year they would have had a fighting chance to win 19-4A.
15. cbear hit the nail on the head. Look, when Lee was winning, we brought out crowds that make Dayton's home crowds look like a Pee-Wee league game,. It's not about the town or the fans.  It's about the W's and the L's. If Stewart leaves and Dayton sinks back to their level that they were for the 75 years before Stewart, then we will see how great their fans are. It's much easier to root for a team that has a chance to make it to state every year. It's also easier for Stewart to go down to the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade levels, because guess what...they are ALL going to be Broncos. Not so easy in Baytown.  If a coach goes down to talk to a junior high, half the kids he talks to will not be going to his school.  Leads back to the need for a feeder system. You seemed to scoff at this being a problem in my other thread specifically about it, yet here you give a perfect example of how it is helpful.
16. Yeah I remember when Lee used to beat the fire out of West Brook by 50. Could count the Bruin fans that showed up to Stallworth on one hand. Lee had a really bad team. If they get it turned around, then people will show up.  It's that simple.
17. Dayton is a state championship contender for sure. They looked just a touch away when I saw them against Angleton.  You could tell they had the goods though.  They just needed to tighten up their execution and cut down their mistakes a little bit. If they were to play Angleton in the playoffs, they would beat them by 25-30.
18.
Internet went down...what'd I miss?
It was insane man.  GCM scored 5 td's in 85 seconds.  It's 35-35 now with 10:35 to go 3rd quarter.
19. Exactly... The school is needed regardless.  This is about correcting a problem that is long overdue. You can make good teams in Baytown either way. That's not the point. The point of this specific thread is that having a true feeder system is better than not having one, and that Goose Creek junior highs have to be getting overcrowded.  Put the two together and you have a nice solution to both problems. GC has had 5 junior highs for as long as I can remember.  This goes back through the early 80's for sure. They have 3 high schools now.  It only makes sense.
20. Did you post in the wrong thread broncos92? Your comment does not go along with the discussion at hand here.
21. Baytown Junior is closer to Sterling than it is Lee. Cedar Bayou is closer to Lee than it is Sterling. Whatever the case may be, they just need to get some feeder systems in place.
