Just a friendly reminder... We have had some rain around these parts lately. Make sure to bring knee boots so you do not get yourself muddy stepping off into the neighborhood ditches when you park and get out of your car. Also, keep your eyes in front of you, lots of dog poop in the area... And last, but not least, please do not flood the 911 lines with calls... We all understand, these are adults barking like dogs... However, they have been taught this from a early age. I also believe that Raidergirl has called her contact with the U.I.L. and has asked for them to attend tonight's game because of the recruiting scandal. The U.I.L already planned to attend due to the overwhelming calls from mommas about the refs being mean to the kids... On a serious note, word around the water cooler is that Ned has hired the Livingston announcer for this game. Word is she is worth 21 points to the home team.... 

More fuel: they're playing with an illegal quarterback, recruit half their players from PA and have the most condescending fans on this board. Don't believe me, read any of bigdog or NDAMAKONG's posts (or anything that starts with NED)!

Not jealous , just stating the facts. You do the best with what you have. Not all area high school football programs have access to the same resources. Vidor does offer a lot to any kids that want to transfer in its called Humility. Stay humble my friend.

Vidor can give Nederland fits. I think Vidor may prevail in this one. But after the last couple of weeks, you never know...

it was a good game made that one with Soulja, couldn't have been happier for the pirate faithful, was a great atmosphere that night.

I worked at Lamar when Vidor / Crosby in the 1st round of the playoffs a few years ago. I worked on the crosby side, they were upset that Vidor was kicking their butts all game long. They couldn't believe it. I just smiled at them and told them Vidor had a good football team, and their defense needed to learn how to tackle.

Vidor has Nederland's full attention, they are very good.  Vidor appears to be a fairly heavy favorite, there are no illusions on this side of the river.  It will be a donnybrook for certain.  I thought we had already been over all this before the season when Buddy G handed down the predictions on Vidor?

As long as that litter doesn't include "Interstate 10 Vidor 0" signs, no big deal.  Haven't lived there in 15 years.  But I doubt any of the fans of other teams had to face the years of ridicule we did.  22 game losing streaks.  A lot of stuff.
Then everytime we have a tad bit of success, you come pee in our cornflakes.  Just let it play out...The odds, and history, say we won't beat the MC teams.  But I'd love to see a DC for the second time in my 42 years.  Can you blame me for that?

I'm absolutely clueless to why we even play the games anymore.  Just hand the DC to the Indians at the beginning of the season and let the pee ons play it out for the rest.  I mean...they represent so well yearly in bidistrict anyway...

Criticism is fine.  Used to it from PNG fans.  Let's look at the facts...Shoutout a team, and held under 100 yards, a team that scored 20 on Pearland.  Finally played a "real" predistrct opponent and got our butts handed to us.  Have played much better since.
Take away the KO return against Central, our D has give up 21 points in 12 quarters.  
I'm certainly not as cocky as the PNG folks.  You guys mirror Summer Creek so bad.  But I say that if Vidor keeps the ball off the ground, they have a decent chance to beat anyone in district.
Plus...if Vidor was so bad...why are they discussed in just about every thread.  
Slot T is an offense for teams with less talent.  They have some talent.  Let the darn season play out.

I'll respond to both posts.  I shouldn't have said D1.  I really mean all levels of collegiate ball.  My theory is the T Slot can pad ruahing stats that a back would not get in a single back formation.  It takes all receivers out of the equation and requires an O line that is smaller and faster for the pull out blocks.  I recommend, as do many Pirate fans, to change to some snaps from the Shotgun.  Here is a thought, first play line up in T Slot and then drop the QB to shotgun and have the backs go out wide.  At the very least the opponent will burn a timeout.  Geez, try something new.  As for the D, our backs were below average this year.  Cheat a safety and blitz libebackers every down.  A high school QB will make mistakes when rushed.  
Please don't attack me for new ideas that I hear fans mention every game.
As for your mention that I'm not inbested anymore.  My alarm plays Slavonic every morning.  I take off half days to make games.  I drove to Pensacola last year to watch a team in which I know no one playing.  My daughter begs me to move back and loves to attend the games.  Unless you have moved away, you can never understand what makes SE TX football special.  Having your own stadiums.  Having your own traditions.  I would love to move back here.  My son is attending Oak Forest because the Katy area schools have declined.  I'm extremely invested in the entire Vidor football program.
I don't want to lose Jeff.  But I'm feeling that "oh well" mentality that plagued us so many years.  We deserve better results.  There has to be a way to get them.

Look.  We are two different generations.  I remember the interstate 10 Vidor 0 signs. Our recent records are resembling those teams with two huge exceptions, these kids are playing hard as a team and have amazing talent.
Being embarrassed for Homecoming is not the usual result we should have been witnessed too.  Changes need to me made.  Either offense and defense schemes, formations or playing style.  Jeff can make these changes, but is he willing too?  I expect better results.  If you don't then do you really care?  This isn't Fun, Fair football where everyone gets a trophy. Wins do mean something and that is something we are doing less and less. 

A coach doesn't make division 1 athletes. He makes what he has better. If you haven't seen these young men get better than you and I aren't watching the same things.

Remind me again...first years coach against coach with 17 years as head coach...something is not right here.  Smaller enrollment.  Amazing what new blood can do to a program.  Stats and records do not lie.
