  1. It’s a little bit surprising because the Montgomery ISD area has been growing and Nederland is more or less landlocked. It looks like MHS lost students and LC stayed about the same.
  2. I’m waiting for PNG and Ned to move to the same district as SOC next. 😆
  3. 5th in their district last year but maybe it’s a tough district with the bigger college station schools? I’m not sure. LC was first last year: [Hidden Content]
  4. I’m surprised to see that Montgomery lost about 100 kids and LC basically stayed the same compared to two years ago.
  5. They’ll send you to the same digital ticket site, so you might as well buy them today to save $4 per ticket vs the higher game day price. [Hidden Content]
  6. Similarly, Bryan Rudder, Huntsville, and the Montgomery isd schools could opt up to play closer to the two college station 5a D1 schools. At least those would be about an hour apart. I’m sure that would be a tough sell to the coaches and ADs though. There’s not a perfect solution that would make everyone happy in such a big state.
  7. If those schools don’t have to make multi-hour trips just for district games, then yes I would support that. I realize that I might place a higher value on reasonable travel compared to most in this forum. Long travel distances can become a significant burden for districts and the community.
  8. I’m for keeping competition fair within reason. Maybe splitting 6a makes sense because those schools tend to be in closer proximity to each other in major metros, but I don’t know that it’s a good idea for even 5A and below to be split. Not everyone has to make the playoffs and we certainly don’t need 12 different state champions.
  9. What’s the most common reason why they want to split?
  10. This might be an unpopular opinion but the idea of d1 and d2 during the regular is ridiculous for travel and budget purposes. 2-3 hour drives to play some district games is insane.
  11. At the area contest in chanelview this Saturday, how many do they move to the same-day 2nd performance finals, and how many move on to state from that area?
  12. You can see it on the NDN press YouTube game against lake creek this year at halftime. Both sides have roughly the same capacity now.
  13. Interesting for Nederland
  14. Yes, it looks like it’s west fork’s “forthcoming” game (since they haven’t had a graduating class yet)
  15. 94% of their students were economically disadvantaged as of 2023. That alone is a huge hurdle to overcome. [Hidden Content]
  16. So their district must include areas outside the city. That’s not uncommon.
  17. I wouldn’t completely count out next week‘s game against LC, or maybe even the one against Huntsville, considering the way they played Montgomery. You never know which group of HS kids will show up with their A game on these teams.
  18. I fully expected the score to be flipped in favor of Dayton. LC is slowly getting better each game it seems.
  19. This title is wrong Montgomery played @ Huntsville
