  1. Prayers and condolences for those who loved him.
  2. We can only hope!
  3. Looks like this will be the first time in 10 years we'll actually get our Christmas tree the day after Christmas like the wife likes to...
  4. They just looked like they weren't ready to play, mentally. Im sure that had a lot to do with the "make shift" line. Not having the usual horses up front can have a mental effect. Sad thing is that this was our best shot at a title for a while. Yeah, we have some players coming back but they'll have to assume different roles. Zeigler will go to QB and he'll do a good job, but this means he'll no longer be the utility guy he's been out of the back field. His ability to run and catch in the slot and out of the back field will be missed. On defense we'll lose 3 of 4 defensive backs and both our stud LB's. This was "the year". Its a dang shame it had to also be the year of covid. It always seems like, if something like this is going to happen, it's going to happen to us.
  5. Gun, if you haven't been to a game this year you better keep yo self at home! You know how "mojo" works...
  6. Thankfully! Thats why we're dangerous. I hope the boys play with a chip on their shoulder Friday since there are a bunch of non-believers around. Its time for some folks to take notice.
  7. Not intended as disrespect. It was a response to someone downplaying the capabilities of the WOS backfield. No doubt Limbrick is talented as is Andre. Andre is a good kid too. We hated to see him leave. Both talented backs as are the WOS backs. The WOS kids just don't have the gaudy numbers because we also have great WR's. And a QB that can spread it around. But make no mistake, Gayles and Shaw would rack up those numbers in a different system.
  8. Gayles and Shaw both average 10 yards a carry.
  9. LOL
  10. The Jasper RB's are not better than Elijah Gayles. He doesn't get the yards that Limbrick did because WOS has many weapons that they use. Andre Thomas played at WOS until his Sr year when he went to Jasper. He was a slot guy here, not even a RB.
  11. We heard the same thing last year after Bellville put the stomp on Jasper. What they did to Jasper has no bearing on next weeks game. Jasper has proven, again, they can't get the job done in the playoffs.
  12. Congrats Livingston! Now, don't be satisfied... Go make some more history!
  13. I'm still around... lurking in the shadows...lol
  14. And they were worn out. Not many kids on the sideline.
  15. Why would he???
  16. Gun, you're adding WAY to much reality, facts and objectivity to this coversation...
  17. They wore Maroon in the WOS game last yr.
  18. Yup that's right, sorry.
  19. One thing you have to keep in mind that you mention is that they play no one with the speed anywhere close to what Silsbee will bring to the table. They havent seen it and they cant duplicate it in practice. Silsbee just needs to.make every possession count and know they are going to score some, too. And when they do, not to panick. Get some stops and score when you do.
  20. Yes, same guy. I saw where some folks werent sure about their history and semi final games with WOS. Wimberley also won state in 2005. That was the yr they beat WOS in the semis. They beat Coldspring in 2011 when they won it. WOS beat them in the semis in 2017.
  21. That's a good way to summarize it, Griff. I watched the replay on TL last night just to hear Stelly's take on what happened. I just kept thinking "the miracle on I 10" is what I'm gonna call this. I remember sitting in the stands thinking the game was over going into the 4th, up 28-17 and Silsbee having to punt. What unfolded after, the plays Silsbee pulled off, are just unbelievable. The perfect passes thrown by kids who dont throw passes. The unlikely calls that went they're way and I'm still trying to figure out how Martin caught that 2 point conversion. Still hard to fathom that 4th qtr. Anyway, we got everyone back next year... this loss will burn through the offseason.
  22. I have always thought that Taylor has that extra gear over the other two. No offense to them, they are good backs, but Taylor is the top.
  23. There will always be detractors regardless of success and it's usually sour grapes over their kid not getting the PT they think he deserved or (better yet) the PT they thought they deserved 20 yrs ago.
  24. I'd give the ball to Taylor 47 times, then run play action off of him the rest.
