  1. Did you happen to catch it when it came on or were you able to pull it up and watch? If so, how?
  2. Really hard to make a good comparison on these. You simply can't ignore the pre and post Spread Offense asterisk. What Daingerfield and Yates did (IMO Carter isn't even in this convo) is unreal. But a team in the Spread era giving up less than a TD a game is equally impressive.
  3. We can play either day AND we will come to you! We need 7th and 8th grade games. If interested please email us at the following address: [email protected] or call (409) 330-5787 or (409) 670-3635
  4. I told a friend of mine that the other day. I've been to every game where we've played the Region 4 champ and none of them were easy games. Even though I thought going in we should handle them easily. In 2000, with the defense we had and learning that Cal Allen was a run only team, I thought we would have that game in the bag, but they were much better at it than any team we had faced. I kind of get that same feeling this week. We've seen this offense over and over, but I got a feeling they will be tougher to stop than anyone we've seen. Hope I'm wrong. Last year, against Cuero, going in I knew they (basically) have one play and there is no way a team beats us with one play. Well.. They didn't beat us with that one play, but they dang sure gave us a scare. We just have to remain focused and expect them to be better than anyone we've played.
  5. We gave up three TD's to Vidor because we don't game plan to stop it because it's a scrimmage. It's going to be tougher on Kennedale.
  6. Sure looked like a hold to me. Every time I watch it. Can't get your hands outside the shoulder. They are going to call that every time, especially on the DE that springs the run.
  7. I still respect Silsbee, always will. I ALWAYS pull for Silsbee come playoff time. But, you blame the WOS fan base for the (more than usual) talk that's gone on. You may want to go back to some things said this summer by Silsbee folks if you want to trace it to it's origin. I think several Silsbee fans understand that. Like I tell my kids... When you open your mouth in haste, be prepared for the backlash to follow... You don't get to choose how that will go. After this game, I believe things will get back to normal.
  8. The Daingerfield defense gave up 0 points all season. There was only 6 points total scored and that was a fumble returned for a TD against their offense. That was back in 1983, I believe. It would be very difficult to imagine that happening today with the spread offense so prevelant, but you never know.
  9. It really blows my mind that the kid posted something like that! WOW!!!
  10. And during that time it didn't end well for BC on Friday nights?
  11. Whichever one it was, it is bad... It doesn't look nearly as bad from the stands as it really is. I wonder how many of the Silsbee school board have actually been on the field and saw for themselves how bad it is. It's the worst I've seen.
  12. I said that about BC possibly being our biggest test. The only other team that I feel maybe tougher is Kennedale but I don't know much about them. I knew someone from BC was going to say something about the 7th grade season. It actually took longer than I expected, LOL. Seriously, though, BC was by far the toughest team the seniors faced in MS, IMO.
  13. I have a lot of respect for BC and these seniors. A couple of things with this post, tho... There is a BIG difference between passing when you want to and passing when you HAVE no choice. I have heard a million times, "just because we don't doesn't mean we can't", If you aren't throwing during game speed (which it appears you don't) it will not be there consistently when you have to have it. You don't have to believe, you will see. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to mention the 7th grade, LOL.
  14. They should... I've been on that field many times over the last several years. It has never gotten any better. That WOS/Silsbee game back in 2009 literally ruined that field. It has never recovered.
  15. I said "might", they are why. They return 16 from a 12-1 team. BC is a rival, you never know. Both will be good match ups.
  16. I've been involved in some of these two groups (WOS and BC seniors) battles. People under estimate the Cardinals I think.
