I've casually kept a virtual eye on private school teams like WC, Strake Jesuit, St Pius X over the years. There's no substitute for actually attending the games and seeing for yourself.   I might have blended in the national & international from some'n I saw on 30 for 30, lol.  Sometimes the hyperbole gets out of hand.

Silsbee players have zero rings!!! Why are they talking smack? Dallas Lincoln has a ring! They can talk smack. Silsbee no smack just let your game speak. 

I can comprehend, you guys don't have any valid points. Trump is always lying. You guys overlook all of the crazy things he has done thus far. He is a lunatic and he is not fit to be President. I have talked to people who plan on voting for him. They don't know his stance on any issues except that he wants to build a wall and he wants to make Muslims register with the government. 

For me a lot of those depend on the time of the game.  Probably can't get to those scrimmages, which are usually held in the afternoon.  That tournament game held just before Thanksgiving, hmm, that's not good.  Last year it was on the Friday after which worked out fine.  
That tourney at 2nd baptist church...depends on the time.  Silsbee is obviously well known & respected to be in that.  Many of these games reflect that as well.  The Woodlands playing in Silsbee?  That's an indication right there.
Silsbee vs LaMarque in LaMarque..This is a new year for both teams.  Still should be a good game.  
Those top schools in Ft Bend will be tough in that Mo City tournament.

Silsbee only has like 7 home games this year I've heard. I don't know if they will have a 30 plus win season but they will be as battled tested as Lincoln was last year. I think Dallas Lincoln was like 21-16.

Yep.  I checked; I didn't see any games during the 2014-15 season.  I follow the team every year on this board, but if you don't attend any games it is hard to really know and get a feel for the roster.  It is next to impossible.
They didn't play many games in the Houston area that I could attend.  They blew out Scarborough in Houston area somewhere.  That was on a Friday night and I don't go to games on Friday.  They played Wheatley that following Tuesday in channel view.  I had some car problems I was concerned about and didn't go.  They then played Mexia and Houston Sterling in Huntsville, but I didn't attend those games either, for the same reason I didn't go to the Scarborough game.
Silsbee had only one senior in 2014 2015, Michael Williams.  No disrespect, but I do not remember him on the court.  

My provider replayed the Silsbee vs D Lincoln game Thursday. Almost a week after the game.  I was just watching it just a moment ago.  

I usually watch 1 or 2 Silsbee games a year when they get close to Houston.  The season before I didn't see any Silsbee games.  Then when this season started & I saw where they were ranked # 1 in 4A I knew I had to see what this is all about.  I went to their game in Houston against Bellaire back in November, the day after thanksgiving.  Maze & Adams were raining 3s.  The last Silsbee team I had seen could not shoot, so I was impressed.  Maze hit like 3 3s in a row and took the lead, I said wow, I like that.  Then I saw this pt guard, Devon drive down the side of the key like a blur, and put some wicked english on the ball and it curled around the rim three times and went in.   I knew then that the ranking was legit.
I saw 4 more games during the season.  i made a lot of comments. I was really hoping they could win it all.  They had a very nice run though.  Gonna miss the seniors big time.  That's high school basketball though. Sooner or later somebody will step up and make us forget.  I still haven't seen the play where Devon got hurt.  I am glad to hear his injury was not as bad as it could of been. Easy for me to say.  Dude plays with a lot of heart and passion, 100 percent.

On the officiating, I never complain about it so long as it's consistent.  And in this game, it was consistent.  It's just it was consistent one way in one half, and a different way in the other.  Which is strange..sometimes this occurs when someone has some "advice" for a crew at intermission, especially if a supervisor is on hand.  
I don't think you can blame this loss on officiating anymore than you can blame it on Devon getting hurt.  The truth is you can almost never say for certain what would happen with a changed variable.  However, we do know that Silsbee could have won this game if they had capitalized more on opportunities (point blank range shots and FTs), if they hadn't been so tight in the first half (jitters, officiating, or whatever), etc.  
Bottom line is this was a great season and I highly doubt it will be the last trip the Tigers make to State in the next few years.  And next time they will have experienced it and be better for it.  I know, I know, I'm making crazy predictions again.  Just like I said they wouldn't lose more than 3 district games in 5 years (they've lost 1 in 2 years so far) or that a couple of junior high kids would have a significant impact on varsity as freshmen.  
Hold your heads high Tigers.  Keep working and you may get fitted for those rings yet.  And to Tre, Dontre, Ricky, and Big Luke, it's been an absolute pleasure watching you guys play, even when you were dishing out beatings to my team.  To the very end, you guys were champions in my book...

D Lincoln was long.  They had good guard play.  They understood how to play defense at state, with the setting up for the charges.  They had good defensive rotation.  They stepped out and defensed the 3.  Still, Silsbee is not far behind them.  DISD teams are used to being in state.  Silsbee got hyped by the moment.

Sometimes you can't drive to the hoop  That's when a nice pull up shot would come in handy.

I don't know about their bench, but their core players are just as fast and athletic as Silsbee.

The people who rented hotel rooms in SA thursday thru saturday are getting their monies worth.

Tomorrow will make my 45th straight state tournament attended. Started attending the state tourney in 1972 when I was 8 years old.
My goal is to make 50 in a row.
This will also be my 10th year as media. The EC and Silsbee game will be my 9th and 10th game broadcasted at state tourney. Hoping to do 11 and 12 this week.

Finally over the hump.  Silsbee won the state semi final game.  The window of opportunity is open.  Might as well win it all.
