Bigcam, you are a wise man, seriously. You see the big picture, there are two sides to every story, no matter how much of one side you hear. No one, I REPEAT, NOONE is as BAD or as GOOD as they seem, no matter how much INFORMATION you THINK you have. Best of wishes to Baldwin, best of wishes to Coach T who has been a blessing to those he has coached.

Your son is a different case. He was recognized as a national recruit early on in the process. I'm sure there's 30 coaches that came through to see HIM during the Spring evaluation period alone. There's at least 30 coaches a week that come by schools like Westfield and North Shore though. WOS has one or two FBS kids on the roster every year maybe. Those schools have 10 or 15. There's going to be a lot more evaluating done there where you have to look at 10 players from positions across the board versus at WOS where you're usually evaluating one or two athletes, mainly DBs. You get recruiters that are position specific at WOS, everybody goes to Westfield and North ashore for everything. Here's an example, look at what WOS has produced and the position they play and look at at the other two.

    WOS - http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/recruit-search-results
    * It has some other schools mixed with it, but look at the positions.

    Westfield - http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/recruit-search-results?year=&sport_id=1&sport=football&keywords=Westfield
*Look at the player rankings and sheer volume of talent they produce.

    North Shore - http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/recruit-search-results?year=&sport_id=1&sport=football&keywords=North+shore

I understand the point you're trying to make, but I've heard from several recruiters that WOS is a must stop when they come to Texas. That may not translate to a ton of D-1 offers, but in the case of any kid talented enough to garner that kind of attention, they'll get plenty of looks from D-1 recruiters.

WOS gets more looks then most Houston area schools. It's a reason a school with less then 600 students has sent more kids to D1 schools then any other in the Golden Triangle dating back to 2006.

Oh you don't bash Coach Thompson. Son, you do it at every turn.  Heck, you didn't want him as head coach simply because he is one who will coach the team, not let the community coach it.  So in turn, you have accused him of holding mail of prospective recruits, favoring another quarterback over his starting quarterback, throwing guys off of the team for no reason and finally, blocking the transfer of this young man.

And speaking of quarterbacks, if he is so hot to block hot prospects playing somewhere, why did he not block the transfer of his STARTING quarterback, Dillon Sterling-Cole, who has received I believe at last count 11 D-1 offers.

Man, just admit it!  You don't like Coach Thompson and you won't stop this campaign of slander until he retires (because against you most fervent wishes, he is not going to be fired).

I think Mandel Turner may be the next big recruit out of WOS.  They have finally moved him from the nose to the edge.  Size, Speed, and Talent wise, he should be dominant the next two years.  He will be a 4 year defensive starter on varsity at WOS.  I can't say I have ever seen someone start all 4 years on a Mustangs Defense.  Impressive.

If the kid wants to play, has the ability to play, the coach should do all he can to facilitate that process- Providing film, calling contacts, getting the player in the clearinghouse, and being honest about what level the kid can play (Not everyone is D1).

However, if your coach is not going to help you, help yourself.  DO NOT let that hold you back.

Yeah, I am bummed to know that Trey will not be a Mustang next year, but as we did with Dillon, we just need to wish him well and cheer him on.  As for the father's choice of school districts, I can, unfortunately, give a number of reasons why I would like to have my kid in the Cy-Fair ISD over West Orange-Cove CISD and they have nothing to do with football.

No. Brown had one INT in all his years against PNG and PNG did not shy away from him at all. Rose had 12 catches for 140 yards that night. Yes he picked off an underthrown pass in the corner of the endzone and took it back for TD. His speed was never in question. His size, speed combo was the recruiting prize. Not sure what his recruiting status has to do with him being a great HS football player or should I say one of the great HS football players. There are many a great NFL guys that were not recruited well, but they were phenomenal HS players and subsequently college players.
Brown was a good player, but what set him apart in HS from others on the list to put him in the top 10. Deonte Thompson made play after play after play in HS. He's a top 10.

Honestly, after seeing Murray play in the All-American game in Orlando this year, Dillon is a much better fit than Murray, IMO. But you're absolutely right. Murray is a lock, for several different reasons.

I don't know where you got your stats from. Deionte had 47 tackles, 6 interceptions and 8 pbus. I know, because I personally kept count. What they didn't mention was his punt return yards and touchdowns. You should probably check your source on his stats.
