  1. As someone who doesnt have a dog in this fight, giving a non biased opinion, and having seen PAM play twice this season in person. There is no doubt in my mind that the Titans are capable of pulling off the upset. However they are also capable of getting the brakes beat off of them if the play like they did in their loss to Baytown Lee. Longview hasnt given up more than 19 points in a single game all season. PAM has a tendency to give up quite a few points on any given night. If PAM is going to win, it will have to be a high scoring affair, and the Titans will need a few breaks to fall their way, and that is totally possible. With that being said, PAM keeps it close for a half but LV takes over in the second half.

Looked like a couple of small 3A schools attempting to play football out there.

Going to 3 High Schools in Baytown was the kiss of death to any gridiron aspirations in the 77521. Hell Sterling hadn't been relevant since the late 80's with the exception of 1 playoff year in the early 2000s. Finn revived a doormat on the Southside of town and doesnt get the recognition he deserves. What he has done at REL with the amount of kids hes had is nothing short of spectacular. GCCISD has made REL opt up to 5A D1 the last couple of realignments, just to keep the 3 schools in the same district, which is BS. A district should allow their member schools to play in the division they fall into(attendance). Worrying about feelings and playing time and kids feelings at the HS level does more harm to the kids in the long run. Getting your a$$ beat EVERY Friday night does nothing but drive kids away from the programs and creates a defeatist environment. Shame on GCCISD for their lack of insight, and the reputation they have EARNED for the district. "Here We Grow Giants"?????? Giant laughing stocks maybe. This is not the kids fault. The kids have been sabotaged by their supposed leaders.

I was just talking to someone about this game and we both said watch we come out and play like world-beaters next week and everyone including ourselves will be scratching our heads wondering where that was the week before versus Lee.

Unless the Titans do something to stop the edge rush from disrupting every play, they are in trouble. I was in the press box last night at Stallworth, and if PAM would have run some RB slip screens in the middle of the field, or some 8-12 yard crossing/slants etc..over the middle of the field where Lee was vacating 70% of the time, this game wouldnt have even been close. The middle of the field was wide open all night. Even with the 5 turnovers, smart playcalling would have won that game. IMO

I prefer a two team playoff system but I don't make the rules.

In a 4 team playoff system, 4th is much better than 5th.

Not all 4th place teams "stagger" into the playoffs. Some districts are far more stronger than others.

Not all district champions are top 5 teams and in some cases, nowhere near the top 10.

I am also speaking in general terms and not specific to a particular district.

Take District 9 5A D1 for example. Galveston Ball has outscored their district opponents 228-0. Galveston Ball WON realignment this past year hands down. I still dont know how Ball ended up with the HISD schools, but they are making the most of it. They did beat Texas City early in the year, but Vype has Ball ranked #7 in 5A, and KP, PAM, Crosby, BH, LP and Porter could all beat them IMO

Give me Porter with the upset.

At this point in the season. I wouldnt call a Porter win an upset. They gave KP their toughest test in district(7pt loss) and had PAM on the ropes and should have won. I have them as a 10 point favorite if Crosby is still without their dudes. The last 2 playoff spots will come down to LP BH and Porter.

    Timing Adjustments—ARTICLE 2

    Approved Ruling 3-2-2

    I. At halftime the score is 56-0. The coaches and the referee agree that the third and fourth quarters should be shortened to 12 minutes each. The coaches also request that the second half be played with a “running clock,” i.e., that the game clock not be stopped. RULING: The remaining quarters may be shortened to 12 minutes each. However, the “running clock” is not allowed; normal clock rules apply for the entire game.

That being said as long as both coaches agree they just run the clock in high school.

The remaining quarters may be shortened to 12 minutes each?

High school varsity contests are already played with 4 12 minute quarters.

BH could’ve scored 80-90 points. Subs were in by halftime. Memorial will win big.

That's a little bit of an exaggeration, seeing as how the game was 28-7 at halftime with starters playing. That would suggest BH having a 50-60pt second half. Its possible I guess. Regardless, PAM wins this one 67-7. That October 28 meeting between GCM and RSS sets up as a barn burner.

    Put it in the books.

Brazoswood hung 77 on RSS and pulled their starters at halftime. They legit could have scored 90 points. BH scores at least 45pts in this one. It's a blowout by halftime. "Put it in the books"

After 10 years at Baytown Sterling, Head Coach Adam Shibley has taken a non coaching position in another district.

It is expected that the current varsity assistant, Dustan Greer, will be named the next Ranger Head Coach.

By "another district", you mean Barbers Hill. That's where he will be teaching next year.
