Whats the scoop on Columbus-Franklin? -
A&M Consolidated vs. La Porte
Separation Scientist replied to OlDawg's topic in High School Football
AMC probably did roll earlier, but of course last week they only had three points on GB before a late TD. LP is playing much better, now. I think LP is the favorite. -
Remarkable. Trump Gets Elected And Everyone Falls In Line!

Hezbolla all of a sudden wants a cease fire agreement. LOL -
[Hidden Content] The "normal functioning of Democracy" has devastated some in the Federal government to the point of needing therapy. LOL. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., took aim at Secretary of State Antony Blinken after it was reported that the State Department held therapy sessions for employees who were upset by President-elect Trump’s election victory. "I am concerned that the Department is catering to federal employees who are personally devastated by the normal functioning of American democracy through the provision of government-funded mental health counseling because Kamala Harris was not elected President of the United States," Issa said in a letter to Blinken last week.

Barbers Hill (28) vs La Porte (55) - FINAL
Separation Scientist replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
That should tell everyone something pretty clearly. Does anyone really think BH is recruiting elementary kids, to get them to transfer in Jr. high? Seriously? Here is the "dirty little secret" about BH: Most people move to the district for a quality living environment to raise their young family, and benefit from the outstanding acedemics at BH. Even If all athlectics suddenly disappeared from BH, people would still want their kids in the district. If thats not enough to convince anyone, and BH really was determined to recruit, first step would be to have open enrollemnt. It is closed. Yes, I get it, no one ever wants to give BH the benefit of the doubt on anything. Some of the accusations are beyond ridiculous though. This paranoia the BH critics are afflicted with is not just sad, its flat out laughable. -
Barbers Hill (28) vs La Porte (55) - FINAL

Thank you. BH imploded in the 1st qt. (4 fumbles in first 12 min.!) and LP played lights out All. Night. Long. You have a great program and a new stadium to play in next year. LaPorte will absolutely murder AMC next week. I appreciate the grit BH developed and played with down the stretch. I said earlier with all the injuries the Eagles could have folded up but they didn't. Lots to look forward to the next two years for BH! -

And some people just have an axe to grind with BH. Rent free! -
If BH can stay relatively healthy, the Eagles have two promising years ahead. Those Sophs will be well seasoned and ready to roll.

Resumes' matter. No, they don't win games but they matter. LP has a much better resume' this year, while BH had to scratch just to get into the playoffs, and has an almost all Soph fill in skill team. LP is easily the favorite.

Diboll (28) vs East Chambers (21) - FINAL

Once again, this district is swept out in 1st round, 0-4. Is there no end to this? Bright spot was Hardin making playoffs in forever. OF and new coach, good year. Anahuac, huge disappointment. 10 continues to be likely the weakest 3A-l district in the State. -
Hamshire-Fannett Vs. Sealy

Go HF! -
When I comment on a game like this, I try to do it analytically, as opposed to speaking as a homer. I have not followed LaPorte much at all this year until recently. It seems LP is a well oiled machine humming along at full strength with the capability to neutralize almost anyone. LP employs a brutal ground and pound attack that beats down their opponents with D-1 athletes running the ball. The LP defense is very stingy, and LP has a perfect 7-0 district record. BH, OTOH, is a team that achieved a third seed via a point differential tiebreaker, and playoffs were not assured until the final district game. BH lost its lone D-1 athlete RB1 on the opening drive of the very first game. Multiple injuries has BH playing with a bunch of Sophs stepping in the skill positions (I still don't know all their names) albeit with a decently good O-line. BH appears to be overmatched here, but has to go out and play the game like they have nothing to lose Friday night. Thats all they can do. If BH's effort is maxxed out, thats all anyone can ask. LP is the clear favorite regardless. Glad to be playing at GPISD! Easy travel for all.

Playing in an almost dark stadium, LOL. Looks like over 50% of the lights are out, some poles have no lights. Portable lighting set up in the corner, LOL. -
Hallsville has some great fans. Some of the nicest people ever met. BH encountered them at State softball and State baseball.

So its been since 2018, or six years, since anyone in this district has done anything at all. Crazy.
