PNGISD must send him to ISTC for Basic Plus then SITE SPECIFIC for PNG High School.
After he learns the muster points and has a copy of the MSDS then he is set to be approved by the board

Didn’t get to play due to weather. First actual scrimmage is at Madisonville today for us.
Vidors scrimmage was canceled as well. Not sure of the reason. Our first will be tonight vs Dayton.

A big hit? Did someone get hurt?
Unfortunately yes. He will be able to be utilized at the plate as a DH and as a baserunner but 100% sure will not be on the mound and a slim chance but a chance he will be able to play first.

Not to burst any bubbles but these summer show case teams are made up of players of equal talent. There are multiple 17u teams . One is made up of D3 talent and below. One will be made up with juco talent and 1 will be filled with D1 talent and above hence the Bandito scout team. All their kids on the scout team are committed with velocities above 90. And usually these kids pay very little to play. The lower talent teams bear the brunt of the cost for the premier teams. They are entered in tournaments where they are seen by coaches they think will recruit them. D3 players are seen by D3 coaches D1 seen by D1 coaches.
And I'm guessing you are referring to a local Bandito team?? If so...I know (not personally) but have been affiliated with a certain team that has played against them a time or two...and I cannot remember a team full of arms with 90+ but hey...maybe I'm wrong. We'll see when it comes to signing day how many D1 kids are from the area.

Gladiators Walker/Hill...is the team I'm referring to 😉

This is not about one team and or player or a post saying that I know everything but for the past 2 years I've traveled to showcase after showcase and a few tryouts here n there and been on a few visits (D3, Juco & 1 D1). Most of the showcases where in Franklin, Houston (outskirts), Dallas and New Mexico. Not sure how many games/tryouts I've watched buts its been a few lol... during my time as a spectator (no longer a coach) I've only seen a handful of guys that topped 91, 92 and maybe 1 or 2 above that but it was not special (walk after walk). Out of the handful of guys only one to my knowledge had been offered a D1 scholarship (Rice). Also, during my time in the bleachers I never saw BIG name D1 schools at these showcases...aside from a school here n there. So having said all that...I think some of the numbers on velocity are skewed. Try to catch a midweek college baseball game D1 if possible and you'll see that a lot of the midweek starters are not pumping mid to high 90's.... now the weekend starters...a little different story.
My not worth so much 2 cents

I agree with that. Looking at lineups up and down. Not just 2 pitchers. But Vidor will compete with the other two teams for 2.
Vidor took a big hit with one of their starters in the field and on the mound so their rotation will not be as strong but their lineup still has the potential to be dangerous.

Bridge City will finish no better than 4th. They have nothing for Silsbee or OF. BC pitching is no where that of those 2 teams. Should be interesting either way. Always a competitive district
Vidor could surprise a few teams with their pitching staff (Reagan & Reagan) and the power in the middle with (Atwood, Munoz, 7 Bailey).

these are nice examples from 1987. you have to understand whats going on in modern times. and re-read my post, i didnt say it dont happen. i know for a fact that in our area, those who are going to EXCEL at the college level are capable and most do START as freshmen or are atleast on the roster.
we're talking about the majority of kids. yes, i know there are cases of late bloomers....happens all the time
Has to broken down.... the ones that are ready to play varsity as a freshman and I use the wording "ready to play" loosely...will be lacking in some aspect of the game. Fielding will be fine and probably knowledge of the game will be fine but where most will be lacking will be in speed, power, and mental make-up (being able to deal with failure). Those hits from previous years of playing select will not find their way through the infield as often. They are not going to burn many people in the outfield or be constant gap hitters. Their not going to be able to steal as many bases or be able to get to as many balls as a fielder. And will they be able to deal with failure. Will they be able to accept with those hits being caught? Will they be able to deal with being caught stealing? Will they be able to deal with being benched cause their not producing.
All this is just my not worth 2 cents opinion.

I had one minor typo lol my bad. LCM was the predicted 4th place finisher
Its all good.
Their list of players to watch is a little off...I guess thats cause they only mention players to watch off teams 1-10. And I'm only speaking of players in 22-4A.

What happen to Nederland? Only varisty and JV. They used to be good program now only 42.
Not exactly sure what the reason is but I've talked to a few kids from around the area that are no longer playing baseball due to being "burned out".... school ball, showcase teams, tryouts, etc...

Nederland had 42 kids show up for tryouts. They won’t have a sophomore team this year.
What’s everyone else’s numbers look like?
Not sure of Vidors exact numbers but they will have 3 teams (Soph., JV, V)
