1. SMITTY - You are spinning everything around like you normally do. I have not seen any post balaming the kids. All the comments are talking about team, the defense is young. It takes time...
I agree Soulja! It really seems Ozen should be in the thick of things with all of the ability they have on their team. Watched them against PNG and it really seemed they got very disorganized when the pressure was on and they just needed to execute. Guess it really just comes down to being disciplined!
:D :D No comment to the last sentence..   ;D ;D
C'mon Soulja, you KNEW that was coming! The PNG game was not a good yardstick for the Panthers as the refs were so terrible, it killed momentum for both teams. I do agree that Ozen has way too much talent to have an 0-fer district record. As bad as I hate to say it, it boils down to coaching. The parity in 20-4A has created a logjam behind Central. it is a shame that Ozen isn't in the middle of it.
Now that is an honest statement :"refs were terrible and killed drives for both teams". Unlike Lumberton, they only see it one way and ,make excuses why they lose.
 3. Jags shut-up the annoying train horn, Jags by 3 td's. And then  let the excuses fly!!
I AGREE! That and when Nederland players would get up and just push Lumberton players down most of the 2nd half
L-train derailed!!!! Stop crying like Bulldog said. Lumberton always have excuses when they lose even in the youth leagues. They never lose because they were beat by the other team, its always something. Never give credit to their oppnets.  Yall got whipped in the first quarter, you are lucky it was not a blow out! If you dont like getting physical, then find another sport!!! Its football
 5.

The issue with the Beaumont Bulls SR team was one of tougher decisions we have had to make. We wanted Beaumont to be able to enter league play with us and give the kids from Beaumont an alternative to Pop Warner or playing select ball with TIFI. In opening negotiations with the people that were trying to form the Beaumont association we told them that we are basically a small school organization and that perhaps STJFL might be a better fit since they have many large school organizations and accept the idea of putting all the good kids on one team. We were assured that they had investigated that option and had decided to come with us. In our initial discussions the ground rules were that the teams would be of equal talent and from a narrow field of schools. Stacked, hand-picked or A-B-C teams would create a problem. It is very important that idea is followed since most of the elementary schools in our association compare, numbers-wise, with each of the four elementary schools that Beaumont would be bringing kids in from. The opportunity to combine kids from different schools to make a very talented team was foremost on our minds and in our discussions. We revisited that idea with Beaumont consistently and were assured that TIFI all-stars would not happen. Then we are faced with a TIFI Sr team. After expecting that Beaumont would get out and get a Sr team of kids from the designated schools we ended up with basically the same team that had traveled with TIFI the year before. The hand-picked group. That was not cool. As for calling everyone and their brother, your two leaders knew what the deal was. We had discussed what the problem was with them at length. They could have answered you. I could have answered you though I do not remember ever getting a call. Your leaders understood and knew what had happened to make us take the steps we did and had told us that they had seen it coming. We didn't see that happen with the other Beaumont teams and they had a stellar year and we even had the Super Bowl in Beaumont that year. All of the Board understood that you wanted to keep your TIFI team together but it would have been unfair to a whole lot more kids in our league to allow a select team to compete. Secondly, Deweyville has never been all 7th graders and no team in our league has ever been comprised of all 7th graders. After scrimmaging Deweyville, Clyde said that he had never seen a pee wee club with that much talent and Clyde would know. No one said that you cheated. No one begrudged your desire to keep your select team together but we would have been derelict in our duty to all the kids in the league to turn that hand-picked team loose against league teams. It would have been wrong. We pleaded with Beaumont to split their select talent before we even started and it appeared that they did....everywhere but the lone Sr team. This may not have been what you wanted to hear but it should have been known to you years ago. I'm sorry you were never told by your president. He knew. By the way, your son has done well at WB. mark
Thanx, my son and his fellow team mates work really hard...Just so you know, that team was not hand picked, or select, etc...we have sign ups just like everyone else does....how would anyone even be able to select kids for a football team?  football is a sport of character and heart(for the successful teams)....you can't just waltz in to a school and pick that.....we had a great coaching staff and a great group of kids, you all know as well as I do, every once in a  while a special group of kids come through and grow up together....that is one of those special groups. nobody recruited or went out and scouted....as a matter of fact, that was the first year those kids had played together....they have been reunited at WB as of this year. Just because Clyde hadn't seen a team execute plays the QB had been running since he was 7, means absolutely nothing.... Well, now I know, and the reason is as I suspected..... ::)....
Well put!!! I know Jay and I remember the situation and Jay did not run and hide like they are saying.  Bototm line the Sr team was certified and the kids were kicked out. So much for inclusion. To bad ysall did not have the compassion for beaumont back then like yall have for the lumberton kid, then beaumont would have played in the LSL that year.

It has always been 1st come, 1st served.  never try out,   We were never told why the Senior team could not play in 05, and why only them. They went and played up in jasper that year, and the rest played here.  We were told after that, they wanted the teams seperated by schools in the West end, could not get enough kids from 2-3 schools to form one team, the kids were from all over Beaumont. Having been Bulls for 2 - 3 years, it would not have been fair to tell them you cannot play this year, because your at the wrong school. So BUlls moved to TIFI.
Sure you were told!!! I myself, clyde, and muck had about a two hour conversation with Jay about it, he then freaked out and resigned as your leader. then we had the same conversation with the new guy that took over "the FBI guy". sorry if your own people didnt let you in own things!!
I was told that the SR Bulls team dominated all the teams in jamboree and yall kicked them out... but allowed the other teams to stay because they were not as strong. Dont you recall???

Your comment "I am smarter than all of you".  Did I make up 516 yards?  It's been almost this much every game.  Did I make those up??  You are right on all your points except that last one.  It's not hard to make comments when these FACTS keep coming up!   ;D   ::)
Allow me to go ahead and save you some time and a few posts, Smitty: -Too many yards last night; -Too many points given up; -Defense is still terrible; -We shouldn't have won; -Good teams will beat us; -DC is awful and should be replaced; -I am smarter than all of you That should just about cover it.  Please feel free to give it a rest for a day or so while some us enjoy a good win.
What's up Bear backer?  I see your team won.  Great.  Well, my team did win.  It's good to beat PN-G any time.  But the concerns I have still exist to the tune of 516 yards.  You might beat bad teams, like we did, but you want consistently beat good teams giving up that many yards.  That's only common sense.  Educated or otherwise.   ;D

Sad to say but here goes:   PN-G  35    Nederland  14
From the semi-educated Bear backer... Guess your "educated" self got "schooled" by the team you supposedly pay taxes to.  How does that crow taste?  Just like chicken?

You make it sound like we can go recruit like coolege or pro teams that draft. We play with the kids we have. Those players give it 100% and something to be proud of.
 8.
PN-G Purple Vs. WO-S in the Senior Super Bowl!!! u heard it here first.
I think BC will have a lot to say about that
 9.
;D  ;D 7th grade!! What a JOKE!! Lumberton beat Nederland 50-0 7th grade A team!! So I guess we should mark these guys as State Champs, LMAO!! WHATEVER When they start playing on Friday night is when it counts, NOT Thursday or Tuesdays!!
Central Middle School is only 10% of the 7th & 8th grade talent... Lets see what you have to say after you play CO Wilson. Besides you are not the only ones beating Central that way.... Bru was talking talents in the school system anyway, it only counts on FRiday nights!!!!!!

 12.
What league will be considered "The Best" if there's 1?? Or how would ya'll rank them 1,2,3
This is ridiclous post in my opinion. All leagues rank 1 for the simple reason they all provide an oppurtunity for kids to play ball & cheer. Also, there is no way anyone can say their league is more competetive than the other. Every league at every age division talent changes from year to year. Besides all the league have different age and weight requirements.

He has 4 post so it was someone trying to stir the pot i think Ned played a great game today and we never took them for anything but 2 time super bowl champs and a great team well coached. Good luck on the rest of your season... ;D ;D
I am not associated with I have family there and was at the game. I understand that is youth football and respect all kids and coaches, just thought I would let him know what happen on the field

 15. Silsbee should bring up some SR's that are 10 yrs old weigh over 85 lbs but not more than 105
 16. Why does everyone blame daddy ball! Someone mentioned every player should play 10 plays becuase it is an all star game. What about little league, 1 at bat and 3 outs in the field? Maybe the players were divided offemse and degfense? anyone know time of possesion? Maybe that is a factor. What about just being named to the team? How about cutting the roster back to just who will play, then everyone complains who made it and who did not? How about just not having because adults cannot handle it!!!! Just some thoughts... How about everyone stop crying!!!!
 17. What are the rules? 28 point mercey rule? Does the lone star have LO's.

 21. All Sports Mom, here is the deal. My nephew fell in to this catagorey a few years ago and me and my brother was thinking the samething you are probably thinking (contradictions) but if you look at the big picture it makes sense. Here is the reason that makes sense; Most middles schools have 7th grade football so youth leagues do not want to compete or take away from schools. Most youth leagues use school facilities and that could cause some issues. Also if 7th graders are elidgable some associations would push kids to play on the youth teams where others would not which would cause a imbalance in the league. Some adult/coaches dont care and think of their team only just to win. The league is intended to provide football to kids that are 12 and under, if they are in the 7th grade then they have a place to play and if they dont have 7th grade school ball then their school needs to get it going.
 22.
Some of the best college baseball coaches on the planet would tell your son to get in the football program if they want to play baseball at the college level.  A couple of years ago, Graham from Rice had a special done on his penchant for recruiting football/baseball players... he said he liked the toughness they brought to the diamond.  Now I don't think you have to play football to be tough, but the bottom line is a kid who has the stuff to play football is somebody who a lot of college coaches put their faith in due to the football experience.
I have heard that more than once. Football offseason is great for any sport. I bet $100 that any kid that just plays baseball is not in the weight room and doing agility stuff on their own. If you think about, who cares if you ever step on the football field if your favorite sport is not football. Use that a way to stay in shape.
 23. Will you be able to use the video board at the stadium this weekend
