I think eveyone talking about drafting and loading teams need to get off it. The game is what is important. From what I understand that there are standard policies for everyone to follow. Regardless what soemone says on the message board nobody knows for sure unless you are on the board of directors. So lets move on to the game itself. No excuses Saturday, may the best team win.

Everyone should abide by the rules of whatever league they play. It is an honor system and rumors are always spread about the good teams, espeacially if they have a another team that is not performiong. A lot of factors in winning and losing; coaching & kids mainly. I think we should get back on subject on not belly ache, the teams are what they are. Who cares, play ball!

Here is the deal strength and speed is important, no doubt. But it aslo comes down to team & heart. If you count on a few players, you could be in trouble. Any time you have Nederland team thats is playing well and having suucess, it is usually because it is TEAM. This should be a really great youth game. I would bet one thing, this game could be as good as any underclassmen game in the area. I expect hard hitting, great runs, and some good passing. Most importantly the kids come off the field and know they were in a football and had fun.

TD, you made the comment about stregnth and speed and how it did not help Nederland. You are looking at one game this year. I thing if are you are going to make statement back it up. You are entitled to your oppinion and I respect that. I never said Nederland would win Saturday either. And yes the sun will rise Sunday no matter what happens.

I can only go back to 2002 at the momnet but since Nuemann has been at NHS, Nederland has played WOS really well. 2002 Ned 42 WOS 21, 2003 18 WOS 14, 2004 Ned 30 WOS 32 (missed late field goal), 2005 Ned 10 Wos 20, sounds like we can play against speed! I know the thread is about youth football but wanted to get the record straight. By the way Nederland youth Sr has has the players but it is ok to under estimate, then be suprised. 2005 STJFL Superbowl Nederland Sr 12 WOS 0 - Nederland 2005 Superbowl champs!

This is getting old and this will be my last reply oin this subject. Every player must play 10 plays regardless of score or situation that is the STJFL rule. I think other leagues have a similar rule as well. Depending the the roster size will depend on how many plays. If you 25 players, that is not a lot plays when every player plays 10 plays. consider you get about 20 offensive plays and about 20 defensive plays, count special teams maybe another 6. So lets round it up to 50 plays a game. So it may seem like someone is not playing a lot but it is equal to the team.

When a team is winning by 28 points or more the first team runningbacks have to come out of the game and is replaced with 2nd and 3rd team runningbacks. The starters cannot return as long as the differential is 28 or more. So that is 4 starters that come out and does not return to the game. 1/2 the lineman cannot run the ball due to wieght linmit for runningbacks in each division. I think before someone start complaining they need to include the rules so everyone understands.

My son plays in the STJFL and the league is as good as any other league. I think all youth sports have issues, not matter what league. If we could eliminate parents with egos from participating all leagues would be better. Ever play little league, that has to be the worst and it is your own community screwing each other. There are issues but if you have an issue with a coach or your association you need to drop the title. You need to change your name because if you are not from Nederland you are going to give them a bad name. My point is, you started a thread but do not want to back it up with names and then mislead everyone about the STJFL. But I do understand your point and what you are trying to say, keep it real :

One last comment about the scores. There are approx 50 teams that Icounted in the STJFL that means that 50 coaches need to turn their score into there respective association, in tunr that person needs to turn that into an STJFL rep. From what I understand, the rep does not have access to the STJFL website so they have to hand it off to Vidor so they can post. I know inthe past, the STJFL rep had access to the website so it cut out one less person in the string. Hopefully that will change so we can get scores faster. But it starts with the coaches.

To whom this may concern; All youth football leagues, little league, pony, etc. have issues. Some more than others. But when adults are not working for the kids and working on their own agenda, selfishnesss, or jealousy thats when things are unpleasant. If any city has issues the facts need to be gathered and handled in house. I agree, we should be talking about the games and the kids. Families make decisions to play where they want based on many reasons. Why don't we get past this. Any association that decides to leave a league and join another good luck. But in the end it what they learn to go to the next level and ultimately Friday night. Enjoy youth footbal no matter where you play and watch them grow to play Friday nights.

Pirate fan, I think we are saying the samething. I know the other organization advertised, thats why I find it hard to believe piratefan 75. We all have choices, choose wisely. Hopefully thats what we are teachng our kids. Also, for some folks to write things that are not true or even scretch it some to make a youth organization look bad is not an example. Good luck

piratefan75 - you must live under a rock. Football registration started last summer, season started in August and know you want to complain??? You seem to be a frequent message board visitor and you did not know of the other league. I find that hard to believe! That tells me that the other team was not very interested in advertising there registration and league info. I am not convinced you even play in the STJFL

Heres the deal. The STJFL sand any other league is between a rock and a hard place. If you cut game then kids and parents think they jipped of a season. If you play it out, its too llong. The approach I believe that was taken is; The league is going to offer a full season and full playoffs for the kids and parents who want to participate. That they fairest of the 2 options. So if you have something else you want to do, then do it. It is your option but the league is there for the kids that want to play. If we cut it short than nobody has the options. So deer hunters like me have to make a choice, so I give the choice to my son. He says play, so we play. If other players choose to leave, thats fine too. We did not order a hurricane. the league is here for all kids that want to play foorball and cheer. By the way regualr season is over by Thanksgiving, actually the week before the kids get out for break. The playoffs start Nov 22, so 100% of the kids get an oppurtunity to play a full season.
