There is no way that the STJFL will have weigh ins at games. First of all there is no way to have the same scale at the same place unless you have a weight station (like 0n 1-10). There would be so many protest about the scale. On any given Saturday, there could be 4 to 6 host sites. Talk about a cluster!!! Instead of looking how funny it looks in compared to each division, state what is actually wrong. What wrong with the weights specifically?

To get the video board along with the DVD is awasome. worth every penny!

It was ok... I didn't mean to come across brash, it is what I observed. I know last year we had sponsors. Not sure about his year.

I will let the video guy speakk for himself, but I would assume the cables and stuff dont reach that for. Remember, the player intros had to be done on the homeside for a reason. It is just my guess. Last year, it cost $500 ot $1000 worth a sponorship to get them out there, since there is not a gaunrantee on video sales. I think if everyone wants more than they can give, the league needs to people to step up.

I suggest all of you go to your local boards make these suggestion. You will find out quickly were you stand. Some have suggested go strictly by age and no wieght limits. Like middle school. I think most people do not understand and are thinking narrow minded about wieght. You have to look at the greater whole of the league. Things are fine the way they are., but I am not in the league naymore so more power to all of you and your ideas. Like I said go to your local board and see where it goes. They are the ones that set the agenda and propose changes.

You are right, STJFL was formed with this cert. at each game being one of the driving forces that pushed us away from POP Warner due to parents and coaches starving kids all season prohibiting their natural growth and even sweating down players before a game having them dehydrated before even stepping onto the field. The weights are fine at the end of the day you just have to play nothing will ever cover every situation. Your are cap'n. I suggest all the poster that want change go to the board meetings and listen to the dialogue on all pros and cons. They will see real fast that things are fine where they are. Subtle changes need to be made, it is hard to backwards, it easier to nibble a little at a time.

That is a good question, I have invited them for years all 3 stations and no one ever showed but they will cover some of the baseball in the area, why is that? My understanding they did not show up for either Lonestar or STJFL... I bet we see them this summer at LL games!

As lawyer you should know that you would need to read the by-laws and certification rules. The rules and by-lwas state that the player must weigh XX to certify in the age division. It is all about language, isn't it? As for as weighing during the year, that would be very difficult. besides the weight limits are set by considering what a player could gain throught the year. Example: LO's cannot weigh more than 155 in the senior, it is understood that a player maybe 165 by the end of the season.

Then move up to Jr division. No kids is limited to play up. If he is a stud or daddy thinks he is a stud move up. Bigger kids running the ball will make the league one dimensional. A couple of little Grogans and Beards out there and no one can tackle them.

I think that is crock about the refs favoring a team. There was a ref from Lumberton all as well. He was a line judge. I the senior game he missed 3 obvious penalties which favored Lumberton. Nederland was penalized 3 times for holding on big first downs inside the red zone, which made it 3rd and very long or 4th and very long. I do not think the Lumberton refs did because he is from Lumberton and against Nederland. I was told the ref appologized to the Nederland coaches after the game saying he missed a few and was glad it did not affect the outcome of the game. I think he just missed it, he looked at the replay board and saw that he made the wrong calls or "no" call. I am sure someone out there is thinking just like you "the ref is from Lumberton and was favoring Lumberton". I will tell the them the samething In the NFL Sunday, the steelers clinched home field and division title on a controversy TD in the final minutes. Do you think the ref that overturned the call by replay had it in for the steelers? NO everyone is entilted to their opinion, but refs make bad calls. To think that they intentionally go against a team is stupid. How close did you look at your opponents calls orr no calls. When you lose, you look for things that could make a difference. Look at the BIG picture.

From what I heard, they did not show. I bet anyone $100 that this summer the media will be at local little league baseball all-star games. I will even up it a little that they will be out at Ford Park showing teams that are not even from SETEXAS.

Based on those numbers, it does not suprise me that Nederland did not give up any points. The suprise is they were held to 8 points. Good job by both teams.

I like your comments LTRIAN. This is sooo common in sports, mainly youth sports. I am not from Lumberton or WOS, so my view is totally neutral and my son has moved on from youth sports. Anytime a team loses, there are excuses, there are complaints about sportsmanship, and most of all they are not really understanding the feeling of the team the is victorious. When you when a big game there is excitement for the team and the fans are celebrating, NOT RUBBING IT IN. I have been a winner in big games and losers in big games. Win I win, I have mt own way to celebrate. When I lose I tip my hat and say good game, and do not take there celbration personal. Gorwn ups need to grow up, let fans have there day with their team/kids. By the way, WOS is a class organization. I would love to play WOS as much as possible in any sport. It makes my team better.

I thought this would be a low scoring game since the weather and field conditions favored Lumberton. The games that I saw, Nederland had a lot of speed and throws a lot, wet and windy usually negates that. Congrats to Nederland for the victory and to Lumberton for a great season.

I was in the league when the change was made. The reason for the differnce is pee-wee was going to be unlimited, but some parents freaked out when they heard unlmited for 7 & 8 year olds So they are capped the same as Jr's. The jr's are about the right. It does not take talent when you are real young to run over 90% percent of the league. You have to remember, the max wieght for a 10 year old used to be 85lbs. Now it is 100 lbs, LO 125 lbs. Sr's are just right. It does not really matter to me, my son has moved on, but remember change must be done in slow increments. If you change too quick and overshoot, then there would be a bitter taste in everyones mouth. Can you imagine trying to to tackle a couple of runningbacks bigger than the Kountze RB.

Deservingly so, Port Arthur Cowboys are getting some covereage in Florida. Why can't Southeast Texas get covereage here locally. With teams like WOS, Lumberton and Nederland in the league championships (superbowl) you would think they would be interested. Not only because of the teams that are playing, but what the league is made of; Woodville, Kountze, Vidor, Orangefield, Bridge city, Little Cypress, & PN-G. The league had playoff qualifiers from every city.

Yes, I agree Txdragon. I bought last year and they are professionally done, with play by pla, and color commentator. The kidds will think they played on real TV. Mt sone has watched his over and over.

I agree Roughrider... Nederland Black looked very strong all year.

WOS and coaches are a class act. I agree with cooligan, #2 is the best player on the field at anytime. I dont know what kind of father anyone is but myself. Good luck to all that remain in the playoffs

Queen, nothing changes as for tickets and entrance to the stadium. It will be tha same as it was the last 2 playoff games. Pay at the gate. Besides the tickets color changes from what I have seen. Green, pink, etc.
