I hear ya. PSJA North went 13-1 making it to the region final losing that game by 6. They return 21 starters from last year. That's enough for me to feel ok with ranking them #9.

Carthage fans are extremely confident when it comes to their team. Been awhile since they have been humbled.

I think it's pretty solid. We both know there are teams that will come out of nowhere and have a really good season. Kinda like Burleson Centennial last year. Others I'm probably overrating. If Longview and Carthage played this coming season, I think Carthage loses by 3-4 tds.

Pound for pound Carthage is top 2-3 in the state. But overall they are 40-50 ish??

Carthage could go 64-0 with 4 state titles but that isnt the "best run". Lake Travis went 77-3 with 5 state titles in a row ('07-'11), while being in a larger classification. Thats the best run all time.

One of the top tier games in the state week 1! Both programs seem to be excited for this coming season. Both ranked in the top 10 in their class. I'll go with PNG in this one. I think the extra couple of weeks practicing and championship experience will help PNG start the season off right. Plus they are playing at home. How many does each team return?
