Thats not true. We made the semifinals in 1972 and then made it to state in 1974. Lost by 1 point to Grapeland. Late 60's through the mid 80's we made the playoffs more often than not.

Yeah but during the playoffs don't coaches agree on a officiating crew? They could get a crew from west or central Texas. Shouldn't be a problem.

I think the people that come up with the districts could do much better. On the 5A site there are people that do mock realignments that come up with better districts than the UIL. So there is no telling how things will go. Having said that I think on the 6A site there is a good thread about possible moves up and down. You should check it out.

I kinda like the oddity. How often do you get a Mansfield Timberview vs Barbers Hill, or Longview vs Crosby? Its cool to see teams that normally would not have any chance to see each other actually play.
