Never gets any easier moving classes. Always run into another strong program. Thats why I think TX football is so elite, quality programs at all sizes.

Interesting that the distinction was made for 6A D1 and D2. Since they are not pre-divided its more of a guessing game.

The kid just makes plays. Great against the run and plays with the right mentality. Plus you'd figure he has good football IQ. His dad is the defensive coordinator for TCU.

And that's cool. Carthage definitely had the better QB and coach but I think Longview was better in the trenches and skill positions. #5 for Carthage was a baller but I don't see him going off against the LV secondary. What makes Carthage so good in my eyes is their advantage with size and athleticism. I don't think that would be the case against the Lobos.

I hear ya. PSJA North went 13-1 making it to the region final losing that game by 6. They return 21 starters from last year. That's enough for me to feel ok with ranking them #9.

Carthage fans are extremely confident when it comes to their team. Been awhile since they have been humbled.

Still bizarre not seeing Denton Ryan, Manvel, or Cedar Park in the top 10. Very good programs trying to get back to the top.

I think it's pretty solid. We both know there are teams that will come out of nowhere and have a really good season. Kinda like Burleson Centennial last year. Others I'm probably overrating. No doubt Region 2 is the most stacked in 5AD1. Gonna be brutal making it out. Should make for an exciting season. 1. Aledo 2. Longview 3. Lancaster 4. College Station 5. Mansfield Timberview 6. If Longview and Carthage played this coming season, I think Carthage loses by 3-4 tds.

Pound for pound Carthage is top 2-3 in the state. But overall they are 40-50 ish??

Carthage could go 64-0 with 4 state titles but that isnt the "best run". Lake Travis went 77-3 with 5 state titles in a row ('07-'11), while being in a larger classification. Thats the best run all time.
